Re: Issue with getting camera to work

I've been playing with the streaming for the last couple of days and I've had a bit of a block with it. Tried it once or twice from my pi to a Linux Miny machine I've got and it worked flawlessly over wifi with hardly any lag. I mean HARDLY any. Did the finger click test and there can't have been m...

Re: Camera mounting info

I've got a 3D printer and have created the sketch to print my own case for it too, but I needed to get an accurate measurement of the unit first. Hence my measuring everything up with calipers rather than taking the documented dimensions as truth (though they are damn close). I'll create an STL for ...

Just to say guys, I've got your pm's re the sketch.

What softwares are you using, because I'm on Alibre Design (which is FANTASTIC by the way!) and can only export into certain formats.

Re: Camera competition winners' thread

I added what I needed to and it still comes up as "failed to create camera component" Maybe AFrame can help.... Sorry guys, I've been away for a couple of days (sunny Sunderland!). This is what worked for me, but it was only on a Rev1 Model B: 1. Download the most recent version of Wheezy. 2. Write...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work

Awesome. Very cool. Out of curiosity, what revision is your non-working board if you run "cat /proc/cpuinfo"? It's 100000f. The working one is 1000002. Now to start messing!! Thanks for your help everybody! I still hope that there's a way to get the other board working, but I'm happy now that I can...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work

Wahay!!!!!! It works!! I went through the same ritual I did yesterday - going through the list I put up earlier and it didn't work - on my Rev2 board. Stuck the SD card in the Rev1 and plugged the camera in and it worked! Tres bizarre. I did do one thing slightly differently, the order of the config...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work

So let me make sure I've done this the same as you guys, cause I'm fairly sure that now you've got it working it must be something I'm doing incorrectly. 1. Downloaded the most recent version of Wheezy. 2. Wrote that to an SD card. 3. Booted off the new image 4. Expanded the FS using the standard ra...

This would allow testing against known good hardware.
Happy to do that this evening if the foundation think it will help?

James, What are the dependencies of the programs?
Is there any way you can generate a script that will report what files are needed that we could then run against our systems?

Re: Issue with getting camera to work

Just to add that the red light/finger capacitance funny business, in my case at least, isn't just on applying pressure. Read on... I've rebuilt my Pi as a new user this eve (went on the site, downloaded latest image, followed instructions to the letter) and, unfortunately no luck. It's giving the sa...

I'm gonna sound massif daft here, but... The cable isn't the wrong way round is it? I'm not in front of my Pi to check until later tonight but I'm gonna try swapping the ends round. Unless I'm suddenly shouted at??

Re: Issue with getting camera to work

Just to let you know guys - I'm having the exact same issue, finger capacitance and all! I too thought that it was just a bad connection but I've had it in two different pi's and on different distro's and still get the same red light problem and error that you have. Gordon has sent me a few suggesti...
