All the cameras should work on all the boards.

This is a weird one..

Re: Upgrades to future Pi4?

Pi4 is still some way away. Try not to get excited, you'll run out of adrenaline before it comes out, and die a shrivelled husk. As others have said, these threads always end badly, and the RPF never announced SBC's in advance. We like to spring them on the public when they least expect, like the Sp...

Re: Touch screen sensitivity for official 7" screen (rpi-ft5406)

OK, so there is an inhernet problem with accessing that particular I2C bus from ARM space, in that if the VC4 is connected to it, then I2C interrupts tend to be grabbed by the VC4 before the ARM (its interrupt system is quicker), and the ARM I2C driver goes pear shaped. So the I2C need to be disable...

Re: Touch screen sensitivity for official 7" screen (rpi-ft5406)

https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2018/43/1/1540219891-rpi.png I noticed with a multimeter that those I2C pins on the display PCB are directly connected to the FT5406, but the RPI doesn't need them since it controls it through the ribbon cable. Is it possible to disable the automatic touch scree...

Re: Code between framebuffer and output?

There are some registers to allow the final HVS output to have a colour correction, but they are not used, and not apaprently expose via an API. Is this the sort of thing you are after?

Re: Diagonal flashing when screen refreshes or images displayed in browser

I tried using extra_transpose_buffer and it seems to make little or no difference. Are there other options to try? I do note that display_rotate is deprecated so I replaced that with display_hdmi_rotate and am testing to see if that makes a difference. Also, our application uses Chromium and OMXPla...

Re: Lightning bolt with 5.5 4A power supply

The RPF supply is not only high ampage, but also has a very high quality cable, which is the usual source of power issues. So recomending it covers both bases. It's also constant. You know if you get one that you have a reliable power source, and if you still have problems then you know the problem ...

Re: Questiob about Backups

Presumably your SD card is 16GB? The backup has probably copied the entire card, including the empty space. Using dd or Win32 diskimager will do that. Zipping up the backup should reduce size a lot. Or you could use PiClone which only copies data. My SD card is 128gb and i zipped it and reduced it ...

Re: Touch screen sensitivity for official 7" screen (rpi-ft5406)

OK, tried setting the sensitivity pararmeter to 1, then 200 (max 255). I could not detect any difference in the 'sensitivity` of the touches - they were really quite sensitive at either end of the range - I hardly need to touch the display for the press to be detected. So not sure if there is anythi...

Re: Touch screen sensitivity for official 7" screen (rpi-ft5406)

Hmm, do appear to be some registers for sensitivity available on the FT5426, but they return 0 in my tests, might depend on whether we are using the 5406 or the 5426 (I believe we use both). I can try setting them but not sure if I would notice any changes.

Re: Realtime H.264 encoding on the RPI 3B

Yes, that should be fine.

Ther eis an inbuilt H264 encoder, the raspistill app can be used to stream H264 directly, or you can use a gstreamer pipeline and the v4l2 driver.

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

Ok, so, I'm a little annoyed as well. I was able to order this product on the 19th Sept, I had not thought to do any google searches to find out if there are any problems. In between ordering (and shipping) of the HAT and it arriving i mentioned it on a forum thread i am a part of, a few people the...

Re: Video for 1080x2880

Just for the records: I tried with display_hdmi_rotate=2 and 3 as well and image always equal. Also tried with display_rotate=1 and gpu_mem=944 and didn't boot. Rotate on frambuffers over 2000x2000 are disabled. Simply because the Pi does not have the processing power to do that level of rotate and...

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

Is there anything that can be done? Other than send it back for replacement, probably not. It may depend on how much information we get about the gory details of what the problem turned out to be. I'm intrigued by James's anectdote: ... some community members sent guaranteed non-working devices, in...

Re: Touch screen sensitivity for official 7" screen (rpi-ft5406)

Hmm. The driver for the official LCD touchscreen is on the GPU, so inaccessible. I'd need to make some changes to support this.

I'll take a look Monday to see if it is feasible.

Re: unable to use touch via hdmi

Just connecting the Pi to an HDMI device will not provide any sort of touchscreen facility - HDMI is output only, and the touchscreen data need to get back to the Pi somehow. When connecting a HDMI monitor with touchscreen, usually there is a USB or similar connection as well.

I'm quite surprised it works at, apparently, 60fps. I would have expected that resoution to be too high. i wonder if the height is less important than the width. As the SBC was also used for mobile phones in the past this could be possible I think. Question now is: is it working when rotated to lan...

I guess some people will be looking at SDR capabilities, I've not read the release yet though. I did not find anything useful in that respect when I looked. Tested with a fresh installation where it did not work (lost USB devices; same as already reported earlier). Then used an old installation. After update/upgrade/rpi-update/reboot only one framebuffer was generated. Replaced the kernel7.img and start_x.elf with your files and then got it working. Ne...

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

I LIKE to be an early adopter but did not go for a pre-order or even an immediate order when available. Reason: Time between announcement and availability was too long - to me a warning sign. Then when they became available I waited a few weeks to first check for Raspberry POE hat Problems in a sea...
