python picamera preview opacity

The raspistill command does an excellent job of creating an alpha blended (opacity) image on the screen. I've been using: raspistill -p -f -k -op 230 & This turns on image preview and allows my python app to be run in the background. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this programmatically using t...

Re: Porting BMP085 pressure sensor code to Python3

I just solved my own problem: I've installed SMBus on Python 3 as others have posted instructions for, and had trouble reading byte values from an I2C device. Well, the following code solved my problem (and simplified the code a bit) MSB = self._device.readU8(BMP085_PRESSUREDATA) LSB = self._device....

Porting BMP085 pressure sensor code to Python3

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding how to port the following code to Python 3.x from the 2.7 code on Adafruit... Thinking about all the bit shifting is driving me nutty. The original code didn't work at all until I swapped the bit shifting for a / 2**nth power, and now the temperature reading...

Re: Rc DC3 aircraft

Apc, I'm working on a project using a Raspberry Pi for similar functions. I have mine coming together nicely, but still really far from flight test ready. I am learning Python 3 for programming the Pi and using a Pololu servo multiplexer to flip-flop the servos from the controller to a Pololu Mini M...

Re: Ordered via Newark in the USA

Just an update to my order from Allied that was placed on 16 OCT 12 as previously stated. I received an email today (02 DEC 12) stating that it has shipped (although it is Sunday and most likely won't go out until tomorrow).

Shipping Wait Time: 6 weeks, 5 days

Re: how to determine revision?

I'm a little confused by Eben's September 5th post "Upcoming board revision" stating that 0002 under the revision field when you view cat /proc/cpuinfo means you have a Model B revision 1.0. I clearly have a revision 2.0 board judging by the mounting holes, Samsung 240 K4P4G324EB-AGC1 chip and lack ...

Re: Ordered via Newark in the USA

An update to my orders... As was stated earlier this is a Newark thread, but I'm going to include my Allied info just for comparison's sake. Newark: Ordered on 26 OCT 12 Order Number 457106. Estimated ship date showed 16 NOV 12, then changed to 26 NOV 12 on around the 16th. I just got the shipping c...

Raspberry Pi Autopilot

I'd like some opinions on the project I'm pursuing: While I'm waiting for my Raspberry Pi to show up I've done a ton of research, and purchased some parts to create an autopilot for a model aircraft. I know they already exist on the Arduino but I'm interested in learning about the process of interfa...

Re: Ordered via Newark in the USA

Add me to the list... No word from Allied after making an inquiry. Some people were quoting approximations given at Allied for delivery times but I when I typed in my order number to check on it's status it said it couldn't even find my order. Just placed another order at Newark and will be cancelli...
