I will definitely put it on the to-do-list, didn't even know that it wasn't supported. Unfortunately I haven't had time to update the app lately and I seem to have a stressful period ahead of me so I won't promise anything.

Re: Using SSHJ to send SSH commands to Raspberry Pi in Java

I've now tested the exact code you posted for sendTestCommand() and it works fine for me, getting exit status 0 every time. Try to change the code to something like this public class SSH { public SSHClient ssh = new SSHClient(); public SSH() { try { ssh.addHostKeyVerifier("..."); ssh.connect("...");...

Re: Using SSHJ to send SSH commands to Raspberry Pi in Java

That should work. You can verify that the SSH connection is open

Code: Select all

if (ssh.isAuthenticated() && ssh.isConnected()) {
... send command ...
}

Re: Using SSHJ to send SSH commands to Raspberry Pi in Java

Are you disconnecting the SSH connection before you send the second command? To send several commands this way you'll either need to disconnect and reconnect or keep the connection open by just closing the session and start a new session without redeclaring SSHClient.

Anyway, the USA convention goes way back -- it's used in my grandfather's Electrical Engineer's Pocketbook from 1908, as well as in Donald Knuth's "Potrzebie System of Weights and Measures" published in MAD Magazine #33 (June 1957: link ). These both precede the official standardization of le systè...

And I always write kilo with a capital K. That's how I learned it back in 1967 when all positive powers of ten were capitalized (D = deca) and all negative powers of ten were lower case (d = deci). Nice convention. So even when you (as in Americans, I assume you are from the US?), for once, use the...

FAT32 Ok. To automatically mount the hard drive after boot you'll need to edit the fstab file sudo nano /etc/fstab Add the following line /dev/sda1 /media/externaldrive vfat defaults 0 0 Close (ctrl + x) and save (y). Read the information from fstab sudo mount -a The drive should now appear at /med...

Re: how to atuo login to raspberry with root

The simple answer would be: don't.

Assuming you are using Raspbian (?) there shouldn't be any need for a root account, use "sudo" instead if you need root privileges. Why do you want to do that?

Re: Hostname instead of IP

arp is not the problem here..... arp translates ip addresses into MAC addresses. The problem here (as far as I read it) is a lack of a mechanism to preform host name to IP address translation. PeterO I know that it's not the problem, "arp -a" also shows the hostnames of the devices on the local net...

Re: Hostname instead of IP

Are you using IPv6 or why are those lines uncommented (normally they are commented out)? Did you reboot (restarting the network should be enough) after you made the changes? Was it working before you changed it?
