Re: How to install CVS server on a RPi3?

Did you note the time stamp of this thread? More than 2 years old.... Using Subversion now. Yes, although the post is 2 years old, you asked a valid technical question, which went unanswered. I provided what I believe is the correct, technical, helpful answer. I suspected that it might not be of cu...

Re: How to install CVS server on a RPi3?

I need to get a working CVS server to be used when programming and the RPi with Raspbian would fit the bill well if I could install CVS on it. But I have not been able to find a tutorial on how to install and configure CVS on a RPi yet. On Windows I have used CVS for about 15 years at my day work. ...

Re: Buying a Raspberry Pi in the US?

If you've seen the factory processes videos we've been showing, I'm sure you'll be aware that Sony don't do that: if we need to speed up, we add an extra line. We don't speed up the existing ones! I'd like to second the thanks for all the hard work you've done on the project and the miracles you ha...

Is Forum discussion info copyrighted or "owned" by anyone?

I am making some updates/additions/contributions to the Raspberry Pi hub (at http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Hub) and would like to include some of the information from the forums here. One of the requirements at the hub is that copyrighted material not be included without permission... so my question is: "A...

Re: Software Monitoring of Supply Voltage and CPU Temperatur

Per info at http://www.elinux.org/RPI_vcgencmd_usage you can measure 4 voltages on the board with: vcgencmd measure_volts <id> Shows voltage. id can be one of core, sdram_c, sdram_i, sdram_p, and defaults to core if not specified. [email protected]:~# \ > for id in core sdram_c sdram_i sdram_p ; do \...

Re: startup script in the fat partition

I understand the concept of a startup script but why do you require that it be in the boot partition? You can just create your script details within the regular linux filesystem...

Re: Need help with configuration of the keyboard

Its actually worse than that. A wikipedia article at <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_sign> spells out a bit of the story, but the British pound sign, the octothorpe (alias octatherp alias hash) and the sharp symbol are 3 distinct symbols, all of which are called or miscalled "pound" and the oct...

Re: best way to shut the pi down?

To shutdown: sudo shutdown now
To reboot: sudo reboot

If you do a sudo halt, this is ungraceful and does not give the computer any opportunity to close files, free resources or shutdown processes gently. You may find upon next boot that the filesystem has to be validated, which can take a while.
