Re: LibGDX on RPi

The easiest is to clone repo (https://github.com/natdan/libgdx) and go from there... Branch 'rpi' has the latest in that repo.

There's a script `build-jni-for-rpi.sh` that builds RPi specific stuff...

Rest is linked at the top of this thread...

Re: LibGDX on RPi

Honestly - no idea. Maybe what you suggested would help - adding JOGL to the list of enums. Do let me know if you need help with recompiling all on RPi after those changes... You can always manually move changed jar to your app and see if it works...

Re: LibGDX on RPi

Apologies for the late response - I've just tested it and it seems to be working. I've picked my 'test' project: https://github.com/natdan/rpi-libgdx-example Updated versions (of almost everything that has something to do with gradle - eh) - including LibGDX to be 1.9.8.rpi and - it fetched all and ...

Good to hear you've sorted it. :) You've intrigued me and I'll check what I've done + update example to work with the latest + move version to stable 1.9.8 and 1.9.9 snapshot. Ah, only question when! Hi, I have encountered same problem as you are right now and I've done something to overcome it. I just cannot remember what was it. I suspect I just upgraded distro at the end as that seemed the simplest. Box that might have all of it is due to circumstances not on the net at the moment - I'll atta...

Re: Java on RPi

You can write Java for RPi within comfort of normal desktop/laptop machine and execute it on RPi same as you would execute it on local machine through something like this: http://remotevm.abstracthorizon.org/ You start agent jar on the RPi, add a jar to the classpath and configure run profile to pic...

Re: i2c can read byte but not block (smbus read_i2c_block_data not working)

I am curious how to do the same. What I see is that you don't have onReceive as bus.write_i2c_block_data(address, 1, [0]) you are sending local address (1) as well (also known as register address) Communication really goes like this: master sends address of i2c device (your case SLAVE_ADDRESS...

If your question is regarding '3.' - then you can use built in HTTP server in Oracle's JDK: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/jre/api/net/httpserver/spec/com/sun/net/httpserver/package-summary.html If you want something more powerful/closer to industrial standards then go with Spring Bootstrap ....

Re: java getting real ip addres

Example given by @DougieLawson is the right way of fetching (all) IP addresses of the RPi. It can be improved a bit by filtering out loopbak and link local addresses: if (!address.isLoopbackAddress() && !address.isLinkLocalAddress()) { ... Whenever you need to 'return' your IP address - consider ret...

You're welcome. If you want to contribute anything to RPi 'fork' - just create an issue on github and I'll add you as an collaborator. I am yet to post instructions how to build everything on RPi itself. This time I did take notes so I (or anyone else) can recreate my builds more easily.

I did run first build (1.9.5.rpi) and put it in github as a repo (mvn-repo branch) but it didn't work. :( Not 100% sure what I did wrong but ran out of time to fix it. At least the process is documented (in my notepad) and I'll look more into it (I have a few ideas what might have gone wrong). When ...

Try with what is in here:

https://github.com/Pi4J/pi4j/pull/285/files

It should really go in pi4j and I hoped to get enough time to clean it up and make really nice interface but something happened and I was left with virtually no spare time for it.

Brilliant! Do you have any references *why* it works?

Also - maybe calling "java_args" as "JAVA_ARGS" would make more sense but otherwise it is just brilliant!

Re: About How to Create Executable file in Raspberry Pi

Try searching for creation of 'executable' jar. Depending what build mechanism you are using there are different ways to do so. In Eclipse, for instance, you can select 'Export' -> 'Executable Jar' and select main class. If you are doing things 'properly' and have build set up (maven for instance) t...
