Re: "Automatic" Torrent Downloading for Raspbmc

Or you could try rtorrent+rutorrent which comes with a rss downloader so you wont need something like flexget. Rtorrent is also known as one of the lightest (if not the lightest) torrent client available. If you are willing to use openelec, this will be even easier because there is an unofficial rto...

Re: My raspberry hangs too often to be usable

Can't figure out if my samsung supports cec or not. no sign of that on the specs on the website and on the net I found some specs indicating cec not supported and some indicating cec supported. I have cec enabled on xbmc, but if I press the arrow on my samsung remote nothing happen on xbmc... What ...

Re: Using external HD -- the HD beeps and stops working

Will i be able to connect the raspberry pi to the above hub, plus other usb devices such as an external hdd? Or do i need to power the pi from a separate source, and use the hub to only connect usb devices to the pi? From the blurb under the picture: Quote: "This USB hub CAN be used to power your R...

Re: Using external HD -- the HD beeps and stops working

It seems that getting a Y cable will cost me approximately the same as getting this powered usb hub: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280840301713
Will my external hd work with this usb hub without using a Y cable? If yes, this seems a much better option.

What if i just plug both ends of the Y cable into the 2 usb ports of the pi? Will that impact the performance of the pi?

Re: Using external HD -- the HD beeps and stops working

. Yes that should work. I would try to find a shorter "Y" cable if you can. Possible Dangers: If both of the chargers are not turning out nearly the same voltage you could damage the RasPi. You could cut the power wire, in the USB cable, going to the RasPi in your Y cable. Then you would only have ...

Re: Using external HD -- the HD beeps and stops working

So i am thinking of buying a usb y-cable for my external 2.5 hdd, but i wanted to know if i could connect one of the usb y cable ends to a wall plug (genuine iphone charger output 1A/5V), and the other one to the raspberry pi? Will this work? Are there any dangers to this method? I would prefer this...

Re: hdmi_ignore_cec won't work as expected

To anyone who still has this problem, you can fix this by adding hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1 in the config.txt, AND by going to XBMC and then system>setting>system>input devices>peripherals>raspberry pi cec adapter and in here un-tick "make XBMC the active source". The combination of these two changes di...

Re: hdmi_ignore_cec won't work as expected

Should i just add that line to the config.txt? I did that but it changes nothing. Heres how my config.txt looks now: Yes. With that present Raspberry Pi won't send an "active source" CEC message. If your TV is still changing channels (is it? At boot up?) then I don't think it is due to CEC. Possibl...

Re: hdmi_ignore_cec won't work as expected

It is coming up when i reboot the pi from the xbmc menu, and when i plug/unplug the pi. I am using the hdmi/dvi port on the tv. I will try a different port and see what happens.

I love hdmi-cec functionality to death but this feature is really annoying. I wish there was a way to disable it.

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

I have two questions: - I just installed the latest image to a 4gb sd card, but raspberry pi is freezing when i try to access the windows 8 SMB folder (installing add-ons, playing movies). This is happening very often and it does not unfreeze at all, i just have to turn it off and on again. I am usi...

Re: CPC are here to answer questions :)

Hello, I just ordered one today and expected shipping is in 2-3 days (lucky!). I ordered through CPC international. I wanted to ask you if you usually include phone numbers on the packages you ship? This is important for me as UPS (you use UPS for international orders right?) here does not deliver t...
