Re: Low cost monitor

I have the same 4.3" screen as Eclipse, and have been trying it out with the Pi. Interestingly, if you set framebuffer_width=480 and framebuffer_height=272, the screen doesn't fit properly. The picture is too wide and insufficiently tall. Can we be sure that the native resolution of the screen is ac...

Re: Mirrors?

Hi Rob,

I was having issues with 404 errors on package dependencies, fixed it by running

Code: Select all

pacman -Syyfu
to do a full system update. Don't know why it works.

Also, check out this thread: http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=482

Hope this helps.

Re: Python GPIO module

Very nice wrapper! I skim-read your source and it looks very well done, and leads to really readable user code.

Great stuff! Consider yourself @followed.

Re: Performance

<t>I am not expecting Minecraft to run with any kind of fluidity on the RasPi if you can get it to run at all (is there enough RAM?) Minecraft not only puts a lot of pressure on video and processing, but also storage; often the hard disk access is a substantial bottleneck when running Minecraft on a...

Re: Wooden laptop for lasercutter+cnc

I absolutely love this! If I could have a wooden laptop that size that could boot or come out of hibernation in less than 10 seconds, I would pay ALL THE MONEY.

Re: Any plans to support WindowsCE?

<t>I realise the importance of the low cost of the RPi -- and I'm not suggesting that the foundation support any version of Windows -- but Windows 8 is designed with an ARM version, so that would be totally doable. I personally wouldn't stop anyone using CE if they wanted to; they might have (real t...
