Re: pidvbip / tvheadend as set top box

I went for this one, quite cheap (in the UK at least):

Don't think it can cope with HD transmissions, but it works fine with the MPEG-2 stuff.

pidvbip / tvheadend as set top box

I'm trying to use the raspberry pi as a set top box to watch UK DVB transmissions (freeview). I have one pi setup as a server with TVheadend, this works fine, I can view tv really smoothly on any of my xbmc boxes, xbmcbuntu, samsung galaxy tablet etc around the house. Trying to use another raspberry...

Re: 3 wire Retroreflective Photoelectric Sensor Switch

I ended up putting that project on hold - thanks for all the help tho.

I ended up building a raspberry pi big trak robot. I'm currently building mk2, once that is built I'll share it here.

Re: 3 wire Retroreflective Photoelectric Sensor Switch

thanks for the help, I have ordered the parts so lets see....

What do you mean by putting the diode across the coil?

I'm assuming you mean in the 12 volt circuit, in series with the relay?

3 wire Retroreflective Photoelectric Sensor Switch

Hello, I have purchased a retroreflective photoelectric sensor switch from ebay, it runs at 10-30 volts. I would like some advice on how to connect it to the GPIO connector on the raspberry pi. I have connected the switch to a 12volt supply, the switch has three wires +, - and the third wire becomes...
