Re: Raspbian and -mfloat-abi=soft

Fair enough, but the soft float and hard float versions produce the same results for the digits of PI. Each run saves the digits of PI into pi1K.txt, so I did the following: ./piSoft 1K mv pi1K.txt pi1K_Soft.txt ./piHard 1K mv pi1K.txt pi1K_Hard.txt diff -s pi1K_Soft.txt pi1K_Hard.txt Files pi1K_Sof...

Raspbian and -mfloat-abi=soft

I was under the impression that code compiled with -mfloat-abi=soft is not compatible with Raspbian since it is a hard float distribution. While messing around with different cross-compilers in scratchbox, I produced a soft and hard float version of a PI benchmarking programming (pi-agm located here...

Re: Kinect - Would it ever work with a Raspberry Pi?

Ok, thanks for the heads up! I'll have to pick up a powered hub. Have you had any luck using the Kinect as a webcam for a simple test? On Arch, loading the uvcvideo module and running luvcview works well with the PS3 webcam. The frame rates are not very good at higher resolution, but that seems to b...

Re: Kinect - Would it ever work with a Raspberry Pi?

No, but my kinect has the external power supply. Do I still need the powered hub?

Thanks!

Re: Kinect - Would it ever work with a Raspberry Pi?

How were you able to get the Pi to detect the camera and audio devices for the Kinect? I've read in another thread ( http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=4228&p=86757&hilit=kinect#p86757 ) that compiling libusb and libusb-compat from source helped. I'm using the arch distro which h...

Re: Balancing Robot

<t>It's always a good day at work when getting paid to play with legos!<br/> <br/> I don't have any personal experience with a magnetometer but a combined gyro + accelerometer would definately be better than the gyroscope by itself. Having both of those sensors allow you to do some math tricks (filt...

Re: Balancing Robot

<r>To add another data point, I helped teach an undergraduate engineering course where the students built Lego Segways for their final project. Here is a image of two students driving their segways over an obstacle course using bluetooth control:<br/> <br/> <URL url="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/580506.....
