Re: Fixing booting of the x86 image on Macs

Followed these instructions and successfully booted Pixel on my MacBook Air (3,1) ! I'm using an SD card in a USB adapter. In spite of the slow USB disk, my Mac hasn't been this fast in years. Tried to get persistence by holding down Ctrl key when booting but no luck. I'll try adding the persistence...

"Open with... " ? no applications

I set up a new SD card with Jessie (and did a dist-upgrade a few days later when the new version was released). Problem now is that there don't seem to be any "Installed Applications" on the "Open with..." menu. All the applications are there from the top "Menu" but when I try to right click on a fi...

Re: Java 7 on Raspbian

OpenJDK 7 is available on Raspbian by installing the sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jdk or sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre package. The OpenJDK 7 package is still supported and receives security updates. Tried to install the jre package and repeatedly got message "Hash sum mismatch Unable to cor...

Re: Java 7 on Raspbian

Which application software "requires" Java 1.7 , which also is available for Arm ? I'm trying to run this software: http://visibletesla.com/Doc_v2/pages/GettingStarted.html The author states: "Dependencies: When using the generic package you must ensure that you Java 7 installed on your system. Java 7 on Raspbian

Raspbian now comes with Java 8 but I have some application software which requires Java 7. I need to either: 1. Install Java 7 (I've been unsuccessful so far so need help here). 2. Find an old Raspbian image which comes with Oracle Java 7. Any pointers... I've been thrashing about without much succe...

Re: Raspicam Remote - view Pi camera on Android

I'm feeling a bit confused because I can't find images saved to "Gallery". My SD card has a DCIM folder with most of the photos and several sub-directories "100ANDRO", "100MEDIA", "Camera". The saved images don't seem to be in any of these directories and don't show up in the Gallery application. Is...

Re: Raspicam Remote - view Pi camera on Android

I just wanted to let you know that the new 1.09 version is working great. It seems to have taken care of all of the issues with setting effects.
Thanks very much for being so responsive and taking care of the problems.
I love this software. It's simple to use and works great!

Re: Raspicam Remote - view Pi camera on Android

Still having a lot of problems applying different effects. Most of the time is just get stuck on one effect and won't change effect when I select it from the "tool" menu. I have gone to the "settings" menu and there are no parameters listed in the "extra command line options" so those are not overri...

Re: Raspicam Remote - view Pi camera on Android

I'm having some problems apply the effects to the photos. Sometimes when I go to settings and choose an effect such as watercolor, etc. it is applied to the image. Sometimes the effect is not applied. I'm trying to figure out exactly what circumstances apply the effect. It seems that when I save an ...

The application automatically updated itself overnight but it still says v1.07.
It's working now (including zoom and rotate).
Thank you.

Re: Raspicam Remote - view Pi camera on Android

Having a problem with the latest update 1.07. It connects and causes the camera light to blink red when it's "grabbing an image" but it doesn't display the image on the screen. Continuous mode causes the camere red light to blink but the screen is black. The screen is just black. I've tried this wit...

Re: Wht is THE largest class 10 SD card you got working?

Just thought I would add my successful experience with a 64GB SDXC card branded "SCT" (class 10). I first formatted it using the MacOS Diskutil and selected FAT and security option overwrite with 0 one time (this took about an hour... use ctrl-T to view progress). I am using this card for ownCloud a...

Re: Any signs of life from Allied Electronics?

Thanks for that link. It looks like I have been rewarded for my excessively long wait from Allied by receiving one of the last 256 MB parts... They probably wanted to clean out their stock by shipping to all of their old orders since new orders will expect the 512 part. Oh well, I wasn't expecting m...

Re: Any signs of life from Allied Electronics?

I received my long delayed order (July 15 2012) from Allied on the 15th October. I don't know how to tell if it's a 256K or 512K since I haven't run it yet. It has a sticker E2812RSV1.0B1.1 on the back. I ordered another from Newark/Element14 in September and received it in 3 weeks. Looks like Allie...
