Re: USB hard drive delay

I had the same problem so mount the disks using /etc/rc.local. Heres my file for info - notice I moved the exit 0 line and I labeled my disks to make sure the right disk is mounted in the right place! # Print the IP address _IP=$(hostname -I) || true if [ "$_IP" ]; then printf "My IP address is %s\n...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

Yes, I remember you saying you put shielding around your receiver and that it helped and also placing the receiver away from the pi. My receiver is built onto a board sitting on top of the PI at present - I could move it away I guess and shield it. Well, I have changed the batteries for fresh ones n...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

Thanks for the advice Ksangeelee.

I will change the batteries to be sure and perhaps try the bandwidth again, though to be fair I have tried doing that already.

If its still losing it, I will try the coax approach.

Cheers,

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

That sounds like something environmental has changed over that time (interference affecting the RF signal, or sometimes weather related, such as moisture in the air). You could try different config parameters from the candidate parameters for your setup - there might be other settings that work whi...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

Glad to give back what the forum guys gave me :D So, you got it working over 30 meters? That's ace! I had to move mine higher up by 1 meter and its about 10 meters away in my garage because it kept losing the signal. Seems ok now though. I just cant get my second one working in my house next to the ...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

look at previous posts - I describe how to setup the right values - safe to say, do NOT use any that says 100.00 thats just noise - try and use one near to where the 100's end. Try LNA_0,RSSI_9 and bandwidth 200 that might be better but you need to play. I found LN 0 to be the best - experiment arou...

Hey everyone, did you know maplin are changing out your N96GY USB weather stations? My anemometer started sticking about a monthago and I called them up and they say its a known problem. I swapped out my whole system last night and got a brand new one. Am currently trying to tune in my rfm01 to get ...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

That's good output - you want to choose an output with 0.00 on it anything else - like the 100's are showing interference. Try using LNA_6,RSSI_79 Also, look back in this post as Kevin explains more about the noise etc and whats best to do. He also explains about how to you the test mode by putting ...

Yes, very interesting. If indeed we eventually get some code produced for FSK decoding, I might have a crack at getting it to work with the Efergy energy monitor as this seems to use FSK as hacked by this guy on his website... http://electrohome.pbworks.com/w/page/34379858/Efergy-Elite-Wireless-Mete...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

One thing I notice from your posting is that your parameters (certainly at that point) are no good as you won't get anything with a setting of 100. I also found using a lower setting was bad for me too (ie those columns with a number between 0 and 100 so my advice is do not use those). LNA_0,RSSI_10...

Glad to be of service then! So, I have run this all day and all night in the background and sent the output to a file and we are still going strong - unbelievable! Hi Kevin, Clearly I was wrong about the sensitivity! Thanks for the explanation and I can fully understand what your trying to achieve with it and, yes, it would be a good thing to have. Strangely enough, its worked all night (I sent the output to a file) despite the shorts ever increasing from 2 to...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

FYI - I have had to disable the strobe_afc routine as that "seems" to be causing the packet of data to stop being decoded. By disabling the call to it I now have (so far anyway) a good decoding of the signal, however, the short bits message is still increasing at present so it may stop later. Before...

Re: Fine Offset WH1081 (Maplin N96GY) sensors working on Pi

OK, were cooking now - but I had to stop the code checking for the signature and just accept any 88 byte packets. Luckily, you only decode packets if the CRC is ok. So I changed 1 line as follows:- // if(count == 88 && sig_matched) { // then probably a data packet if(count == 88 ) { // then probably...

Hi all. I have wired this up and am using the version 0.3 software on a rev 2 board. I changed the code to use GPIO27 as per my request for info to Kevin who was very quick to help me. However, I cant get any data printed so am looking to see what others (you guys) have done to get the data received...
