Well, I got to about the limit in GB that I requested, and then it just stopped recording videos rather than purging any.
I’m now on local:82% Total:60052(MB), 85% is my limit where it should start deleting files.

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Yes, that sounds like the problem. I will try using Max Space in GB and see if that works. I had to rebuild the entire system it locked up so badly this time. Fortunately, that doesn't take too long. I’m currently on ‘local:52.5% Total:60052(MB)’ so I’d think it’ll hit 60% at some point tomorrow so...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Bob, I can't quite prove it yet, but I suspect that the purge based on % of disk space left is not working properly. My disk seems to fill up and then the program locks up instead of deleting old videos. If I can get in on time and delete them manually, all is fine, but the automatic purge doesn't ...

Latest version has a feature request added to the download / preview page. 2 buttons allow selected captures to be locked and unlocked. Locked captures are read only and won't be deleted or purged. You can see which captures are locked as their thumbnails do not have a little delete button. Amazing...

I've just watched the 'PJ Evans - Cooling Nemo || Day One || Raspberry Fields 2018' - https://youtu.be/q9Ob0JXHNMg video, now I'm not a coder so don't know how hard it would be but is this something that the RPi Cam could be integrated with https://wozzit.org

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I'd been running Jessie since I first installed this great software and if I remember rightly I had a 5 second buffer and any motion detection would go back to the buffer size (5 seconds). I've now done a fresh install with Stretch and it doesn't seem to be adding the 5 second buffer to motion detec...

I've just done a fresh install using Raspbian Stretch Lite, installed the web interface. All is fine, I'm just wondering which 'Motion detect mode' is best to use these days? External or Internal?

Robert, I have this problem that keeps happening for time to time every few days. I have 'Motion Detect' on and it'll keep turning itself off, the last recorded video was 2018-03-01 19:49:28 31214 Kb 24s.
