Re: Case for stacked hats

Hi there thanks for replying, I can't lower the POE as it has to sit on a GPIO extender / pass through to enable fitting of the DAC so I'm stuffed - unless you know another way ?

Scenario is, I have a pi3b+ topped with an official poe hat topped with a IQAudio DAC - it's used as a music player using Logitech media server - this all works beautifully. My problem is a case - where on earth can I get one ?

I take it X and Y are struct or class members ? why are you using () to assign a value ?

Stacking with Poe

I have one of the latest 3b+ boards and would like to power it using Power over Ethernet. My problem is, I have a Hifiberry DAC hat on it which stops me from fitting the POE hat as the pins are not available, is there a way of achieving what I want ? I've heard tale of pass through connectors and su...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

I meant non-working on the Pi 2. Hi and thanks for your time I do appreciate it, how do I backup my boot partition and how do I flash it on the other card ? I'm assuming you mean get the boot partition of my working pi2 card and flash it on the working pi1 card - am I right in thinking that ? Hi ag...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

Do you have a Windows machine and a USB sd card reader/writer? You should save a copy of the boot partition on the card that has your software and then replace the files with the ones in the boot partition of the card that works on the Pi 2. You want a copy just in case something goes wrong so that...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

Compare /etc/apt/sources.list on the two sd cards. Make a backup of the boot partition on the non-working sd card and then replace it with the boot partition from the working card. Think there's a bit of confusion creeping in here :D - the non working card as you put it *does work* in my old pi but...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

rpi-update may install experimental software. http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=97314 describes some of the problems that people had. Your not being able to install raspberrypi-ui-mods leads me to believe that something is very screwed up on your sd card and it doesn't seem wor...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

Do you get any visual output with a HDMI screen or not even anything? I know now that rpi-update is a bad idea for a stable system, but I didn't know that before and I used rpi-update everytime when I updated my pi. Since I never had a problem, I thought it's ok to do so. Hi, I don't have a screen ...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

You should NOT be running rpi-update. Download the latest Raspbian image and put that on your sd card. Hi there, why shouldn't I be running rpi-update ? I'm trying to carry over my existing setup ( Pi b 512mb Ram ) which took me a long time to get stable - the documentation says this is possible - ...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

Could you re-update your old image on your p1? Also, the rpi-update needs a reboot to work. Did you do that on your old P1 or did you just put it in your new p2? Maybe any old overclocking settings in the config.txt? Hi I'm pretty sure I did but I'll do it again to make sure Edit Just ran the rpi-u...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

Don't know if this is relevant but I posted the output of uname -a after iI'd run rpi-update , so maybe the update has done the trick - I will try and boot the pi 2 later with the new image, I know the pi 2 is OK as I've flashed a bare Raspbian image and it booted fine but I want to avoid installing...

Re: Upgrading Raspbian for version 2

rapberrypi-ui-mods is in the RPF repository. Are you sure that the RPF repo is in your repo sources? Which distro do you use? If the RPF repo is not in your sources then I'm not sure that you will have the correct kernel installed. What is the output of 'uname -a' Raspian Linux raspberrypi 3.18.7+ ...
