Re: Chapter 7.2 VScode C/C++ configure CMake

Code: Select all

/home/robotics/pico/pico-sdk/pico/stdlib.h
Does this file actually exist ?

Are you running as the "robotics" user or as user "pi" ?

/mnt/c/Users/john/pico/pico-sdk/src/rp2_common/pico_standard_link/crt0.S:256: undefined reference to `main'
The obvious question is... does your program/project actually contain a "main()" function somewhere ?

, but they all seem to require a usb to be connected. That seems weird because creating a 3G/4G "hat" for the Raspberry should not need to use the USB and I have never seen one need USB either. https://www.waveshare.com/sim7600g-h-4g-hat.htm https://www.hackster.io/ParryTechnology/sim7600...

IMO you need a good old modem.

Something like this..

(disclaimer: I dont know if this model or any other similar modems are plug and play on Linux )

currently I cross compiled a Qt app on RPi3 . Then can I assume you also cross-compiled Qt yourself ?? ( that was the only way of getting eglfs to work earlier at least ) Because the XCB plugin is built during the build of Qt so you have to add it during the configuration step. I run it normally us...

Re: How to use 4G mobile network on RPi3/RPi4?

vwdial uses PPP to connect to the modem on its virtual serial port so you HAVE to make sure that you have the "/dev/ttyUSB0" device that is mentioned in the config. Check the output of "dmesg" again if you cant find it. Also using PPP meand that there should probably be a "p...

Providing full copy&paste of the error messages and stacktraces are very helpful..

Right now I'm wondering how you get an error at line 690 in a 10 line python script.

You should probably check that jackd server is running and not "just installed". "systemctl" is the command to check status of services running. systemctl status jackd.service systemctl status ps -ef | grep jack EDIT: What version have you installed "jackd1" or "ja...

So how (and what) are your programming skills ? Integrating with an RFID reader of some kind will probably require a little bit of scripting/programming. How I personally would approach this project: 1. Install RasPiOS Lite ( no desktop ) probably on a Pi3 ( but not ruling out a Pi4 ) 2. Find a prog...

Probably best to describe the functionality you are looking for on more detail. How is the user going to use the system ?

OBS doesn't sound like a a good match. Also where did you get this build of OBS from ?

You dont point your Pi at the domain.. you point your domain at your Pi. Where is your domain registered ? These people usually are able to provide some guides, it usually doesnt matter what hardware/software you are running. I have a domain at "name.com" and there I can configure that &qu...

Re: Scanner runs as Root only

if you look at "dmesg" output you might see which device-name the scanner gets. like "/dev/twain0" ( or something similar.. IDK )
Then you can do "ls -l /dev/twain0" and see exactly what the owner and group of the device is.

Re: Record 4K directly on external hard drive

My first Question is if its possible to record 4k videos with some raspberry pi model because i read about problems with the video codec? I believe that is a NO. The x264 implementation on the Pis are limited to 1920x1080 and there is no hardware x265 encoder . And the second question is that if it...

Re: How to modify SimpleMFRC522 to be able to read/write onto different sector/blocks?

But would I be able to do simple mathematical functions (increment/decrement) without using data blocks as Value Blocks? You can read a "1" from the card and write back a "2" ? Read X and write back X+Y. What you need to learn is to organize the data you want to store on the car...

It's quite a high chance that the problem is in your program. But you say nothing about your program so we cant really know. ( What "feature" what kind of "operations" ?? )
Maybe you are trying to use too much memory.

I have just avoided to use value blocks in general, and so has most other people it looks like.
I dont see a reason why you should need to use them.

Re: How to modify SimpleMFRC522 to be able to read/write onto different sector/blocks?

The security of Mifare Classic ( CRYPTO1 ) was completely broken back in 2008 so I would not personally use those cards for anything money/security related. The minimum you have to add extra security by encrypting/signing the data written to the card. Python is just a programming language, it doesnt...

You are not wrong about the blocks/sectors, but there is something about this "data" array that I dont quite get from reading the code. ( I know Mifare cards much better than python. ) status = self.READER.MFRC522_Auth(self.READER.PICC_AUTHENT1A, 11, self.KEY, uid) There is also this line,...
