I2C Bitbanging

We are using raspberry pi in one of our projects; in the same we want to use the i2c to interface touch screen. As i2c in pi shall not support clock stretching planning to use the i2c bit banging. I am following the procedure as given in the link; http://lwn.net/Articles/230571/ Changes done; In ker...

Bitbanging i2c bus driver using the GPIO API

Hello, I want to interface the sensors to Raspberry Pi using I2C, as most of us are aware that Pi does not support clock stretching at all points I thought if we have a I2C over the GPIO then the clock stretching problem shall be solved. Can any share me the details if there are some of the I2C driv...

Re: uart comms in C

I get the error as "Read failed- : Resource temporarily unavailable"

The application does not wait for data now, I did follow the instruction given in the link -
http://www.irrational.net/2012/04/19/us ... rial-port/

even now the i get the same error.

Re: uart comms in C

Just changed the function fcntl(fd, F_SETFL, FNDELAY) instead of fcntl(fd, F_SETFL, 0).

With this change the program did not wait for the data but error is "Read failed- : Resource temporarily unavailable".
Can someone help me solve this.

Thanks tufty, thats worked ok , i just had to modify the int n = write("Hello Peripheral\n"); to the format int write(int fd, char *Buff, int NumBytes); int n = write(fd,"Hello",6); my comms default is 9600baud cheers. Hi, I am using the code given above [ with corrections] I am...

Re: How to initilize the i2c and GPIO

I do have this data sheet dear, thanks for your time for sharing me the data sheet. The driver for the touch screen is in the kernel but to use the same we need to integrate the platform data [initialization code] into the arch directory. In this case I need to integrate the above given code into th...

Re: How to initilize the i2c and GPIO

The touch screen interface requires the I2C bus and an interrupt line to indicate the touch event. For the interrupt i.e.; to detect the touch event I want to use the GPIO 15 pin. The code give below is used to initialize the same, for TI's OPMA processor but I am looking for the PI equavelent for t...

Re: I2C bus first byte MSB missing ..

More information -

I was using the Aardvark [USB to I2C and SPI bridge] from the PC as a slave device.

Probably I will attach a snapshot of the clock later.

Re: I2C bus first byte MSB missing ..

The error was because of the clock stretching I saw the data in the logical analyzer.

Thanks pals for the advise, my actual slave did not through up any errors.
It just worked fine.

Thanks

I2C bus first byte MSB missing ..

Hi, I am interacting my PI with a slave device [PC], with the same I am able to send data and receive data. But the first byte that i receive in PI is missing the MSB bit every time it reads, i.e.; the first bit [MSB] is always considered as 0, below i have given some example that slave device is se...

Re: Setting the time via a GSM Modem

I will be possible to set the time from GSM Modem, search for the AT command to get the network time and later set the system time with the same.

I am not sure which modem u r using and what interface [uart or i2c] is used to communicate with the device.
