How to configure 16bit clock in SPI?

static const char *device = "/dev/spidev0.0"; static uint8_t mode; static uint8_t bits = 8; static uint32_t speed = 500000; static uint16_t delay; static void transfer(int fd) { int ret; uint8_t tx[] = {0x0A}; uint8_t rx[ARRAY_SIZE(tx)] = { }; struct spi_ioc_transfer tr = { .tx_buf = (unsigned long...

Is it possible to make RPI as SPI slave device.

I want to make SPI interface between RPI, the problem is RPI can only act as master in SPI. by writing device driver whether is it possible to set RPi as slave in SPI interface?

What is ur slave is it raspberry pi?

Re: SPI between two RPi's

overall i'm receiving 2.21MB/s, real data 132KB/s and only junk data 2.01MB/s.

when i displayed the receive bytes, i found the bytes being bounce back which i sent to another RPI. why is it so?

i did tat pairing and im able to receive @101KB/s(maximum).

UART in the sense? configuring TX,RX pins or USB to USB(ttyusb0)

Re: SPI between two RPi's

As both are masters can i connect MOSI(RPi1)-MISO(RPi2) n MOSI(RPi2)-MISO(RPi1) ?

SPI between two RPi's

I connected with 3(MOSI,MISO,CLK)wires between two RPi for SPI. Is a CS needed in between two RPi. In one RPi i connected MOSI to MISO to measure maximum speed and i able to achieve nearly 3MB/s when i measure between two RPi(MOSI-MOSI,MISO-MISO) i got only 6KB/s. I'm transmitting equal no. of bytes...

Re: receiving byte speed per second?

is there anyway to ensure whether 62500 bytes received in a second or not? No. It will be slower - how much slower depends on many factors - e.g. the number of bytes you transfer in one transaction. Or you could run the clock faster - up to 32MHz if your wiring & circuits will cope... -Gordon i inc...

why the byte being returned back to rpi which sent to arduino?

Re: receiving byte speed per second?

when i increase clock speed from 500KHz to 1MHz the display of receiving bytes hangs for a fraction of second, even sometimes for 500Khz also. Is it because of wiring i did or some other factor?
i made wiring as described in the link.

receiving byte speed per second?

i used the resource
http://mitchtech.net/raspberry-pi-ardui ... mment-1449. how to measure receiving byte speed in rpi. im transferring bytes from arduino to raspberrypi.

for (ret = 0; ret < ARRAY_SIZE(rx); ret++)
{
printf("%.2X ", rx[ret]);
}

clock speed is 500000Hz & receiving bytes in rx[].
