I can also confirm this happens on a Pi 2 on the latest version of Raspbian. Rewind or fast forward causes a crash of the browser and seems to do it very consistently.

From what I can tell you said that NETWORK5 is 5ghz is it only running at 5GHz or is it dual band(2.4ghz with 5ghz)? because I dont think that wifi adapter does 5GHz. You said your using a none N laptop with NETWORK5 but maybe that is the problem? try switching it to 2.4Ghz only? Also for the interf...
