Is it possible to have noobs not remove the "runinstaller" from the recovery.cmdline file until after it finishes or not at all as I can remove it in the first boot of my custom os? I can recompile noobs if needed. I am trying to make noobs act as a recovery mechanism re-flashing the pi to its base ...

I have this exact lcd!!! only bad thing is i got rid of the main board of the dvd player :( but... i managed to get a picture on it but with no backlight by connecting to the multi color wire coming off of the driver board becaue they are kinda labeled on the driver pb itself..... if you still have ...

just to add a side note.... when u wire up the interrupt pins on the i/o to the raspberry pi u can tag them together into one gpio. You dont have to do each seperate. might save you some gpio pins. the wireing diagram in the program is very helpful.

Well if you have a MCP23008 or MCP23017 handy (8/16 i2c iso expander from adafruit) then it could simplify your circuit greatly. i made an entire mame joystick and used a 16 io expander and a program made by mmoller2k (*hint* the one post above me). the i/o chip has built in pull ups so all u do is ...

how can make a python program wait for a gpio input? i want to make a menu controlled by physical buttons. so i want it so i can have the program go and then get to a certain point where it stops and waits for some input from a gpio. any way to do this?

so your trying to install a python module? if so u need to do the command "python setup.py install" in the directory of the module. hope that helps.... if that fails try sudo in front of "python"

thanks i seen this driver (much easier to use) also but i wanted it to be a module i could load into my program rather then having my program in it. thats why i wanted to use adafruits library.... if someone could tell me how to make this a class i would be greatful I don't yet know how to do that,...

I had some odd behaviour with that lcd driver. I ended up trying out another one and I've stayed with it because the problem doesn't occur and I understand more easily how to manipulate the code to do what I want. (People I was discussing it with thought it might be to do with the timings of the LC...

well i got a lcd and hooked it up to pi and tried the adafruit lcd library with the ip example and worked fine.... when i try to make my own program though it doesent work the text is not displayign correctly.... could someone explain the usage of the library. its a 16X2 lcd btw i think....
