Re: How to make NOOBS auto reinstall after failed install

If anyone was curious on this, I ended up figuring out a solution. The check for silent install on the cmdline looks for partitions, not the installed_os.json file (which is written at the end of an install process) so if power was lost during an install it would treat it as if an OS was installed (...

How to make NOOBS auto reinstall after failed install

Is it possible to have noobs not remove the "runinstaller" from the recovery.cmdline file until after it finishes or not at all as I can remove it in the first boot of my custom os? I can recompile noobs if needed. I am trying to make noobs act as a recovery mechanism re-flashing the pi to its base ...

Re: Arcade stick Conversion project finished!

just to add a side note.... when u wire up the interrupt pins on the i/o to the raspberry pi u can tag them together into one gpio. You dont have to do each seperate. might save you some gpio pins. the wireing diagram in the program is very helpful.

Re: MAME Button Circuit

Well if you have a MCP23008 or MCP23017 handy (8/16 i2c iso expander from adafruit) then it could simplify your circuit greatly. i made an entire mame joystick and used a 16 io expander and a program made by mmoller2k (*hint* the one post above me). the i/o chip has built in pull ups so all u do is ...

Re: Arcade stick Conversion project finished!

Nice work on this! I was just wondering, does the stick connect up to the Raspberry Pi, or have you installed the Raspberry Pi into the stick for a "plug-and-play" sort of experience? plugs into the Raspberry pi... didn't really want a plug and play type of system.... more of a controller. it actua...

Arcade stick Conversion project finished!

So about a month ago i decided that i wanted to build an arcade stick for Mame.... looked at joysticks and such but they were all quite expensive to part out (more then i wanted to spend). so i looked on eBay and found an old ps1 arcade joystick controller and it was quite cheap. i got it for $13 wi...

could this work with the inputs of a MCP23017? its the i2c 16 i/o expander.... starting a small project with converting an old ps1 arcade stick for the pi... wanted to have all the major buttons and wanted to use the i/o expander to reduce the amount of wires from pi to controller. also could u have...

I had some odd behaviour with that lcd driver. (People I was discussing it with thought it might be to do with the timings of the LC...

You could try to raise the access delay, although it has a negative impact on performance. The original driver...
