Some answers here are so..... You did not answered his question @fruitoftheloom. If someone asks you how to find the hospital, do you say to him "yes, the weather is fine!" ? Btw, I did not tried it - but I bet 5 Euros that FF still does not appear in the user-startup-panel its add-list after...

Re: repos and package lists

Too early...it needs to install some dependencies - of course it tries to install Raspbians dependencies - the newer ones :o Is there any shortcut/option that it uses ONLY the ones from the package-list I have added by hand? Otherwise it tells me "unmet dependencies" ...is there no easy way to "shad...

Re: repos and package lists

It 'works' - it shows me the file with a 500 in the original repos and in what I have added. And how do I now insall the file I explicit want or another older version instead of the latest repositorys one? Trying around with sudo apt-get [Option(en)] install PAKET1=VERSION atm, but I do not get it.....

repos and package lists

hello, have a little problem with different package-lists: There is a file in Raspbian its repository from 05/17. I' ve added a path into the sources.list.d, which contains the same named program as in Raspbians repos but only some days older/a bit older version (but with the same name. I do apt-get...

Re: Guide: Firefox Release on Raspbian Jessie

What is ESR available for RPi? Anyone have how to guide? My oldie pentium 4 had performance boost from ESR few days ago, used few hours to tweak 99% all settings to minimal as possible, cpu usage and ram usage decreased dramatically, and boot was faster than it was default. So was thinking, my RPi ...

Re: Guide: Firefox Release on Raspbian Jessie

I do not want another distro and I do not want Chromium or a castrated Esr.

I want a normal Firefox on Raspbian if anyhow possible.

@schwarzr: how did you have made your Firefox? Can you give us an actual version or a manual how to do it ourself, please??

Re: Guide: Firefox Release on Raspbian Jessie

Of course a test doesn't mean that I open every website in the world and check if it works. Instead or ranting and complaining and shouting at people who just want to help you, you could simply give us a simple example (link) of a web page that lets Firefox crash. Link Its still actual...Ubuntu-ver...

EDIT: I was using a Pi Zero. I'll try it again with a Pi 2.
Fact is that my link on page one of this thread here crashes the browser.
And to me it looks that all Ubuntu-versions of Firefox behave the same.

And as if I have nothing better to do, I also gave 'your' firefox_54.0+build3-0ubuntu0.14.04.1_armhf.deb a try (again...) ...with the same result. As said - test it better before saying its working. It does NOT work for me. And I cant believe that I make such a mistake to not install it correct or l...

Works - but without fullscreen-gui or black borders around a not-fullscreen-video its almost useless. And OmxplayerGUI is only available inside a browser-package?? Is there any alternative? No, 50.0 in the link above I was talking about which is working fine,
and your posting, instructions page one in this thread (which is 54) is not working as it should, its defect.

"Firefox had a problem and crashed."

Just test it a bit, you'll see ;)

Why don't you simply test it? Just takes a few minutes. I want a working and as clean as possible system and no tryouts all the time. Alle...

Re: Raspberry pi 3 + raspbian + firefox esr very slow

The browser-situation on Raspberry is very unsatisfying in my opinion.

I want a newer Firefox, too - instead of this Chromium-stuff.
Firefox is much more customizeable - but not available. Only ESR....with all its flaws and missing functionality.
