Re: GPIO input not working in BCM mode?

This is problably the error - is there somewhere an image of GPIO pins of board rev2?

Is it still hardwired with a 1.8kOhms resistor?

GPIO input not working in BCM mode?

Hi all! I wounder what i'm doing wrong. I'm trying to get a button press to work with a small simple script. I've followed RPiMag issue 5, and want to read if GPIO 0 (pin 3) is connected to ground (pin 6) or not. The following code is not working: from time import sleep import RPi.GPIO as GPIO GPIO....

Drive 20x4 LCD with Adafruits 16x2 LCD tutorial (Python)

I ran across a cheap 20x4 LCD display and got it working with Adafruits "Drive a 16x2 LCD with Raspberry Pi" tutorial. http://learn.adafruit.com/drive-a-16x2-lcd-directly-with-a-raspberry-pi/overview Just one problem... My LCD got 4 lines, and Adafruits examplecode only covers 2 lines. After some go...

House power monitor using OCR(?)

Hi all! I would love to get some feedback on this project I'm about to embrace. I want t use a RPi with a webcam which each hour will take a photo of my house power-meter. Then process the image with some OCR-software (perhaps tesseract would work well?) to extract the power-meter reading. Finaly se...

Re: Security Camera System

Jon, this sounds like it would work for a Netcam, but would it work for a USB cam? I use a USB cam, connected directly to the RPi. It's a cheap 1080p USB webcam. However, I managed to do something unwanted this afternoon, because now it only works with resolution 1024x768  I have no idea what...

Re: Security Camera System

Not sure if this have been mentioned before in this thread, but there is a way to get Motion work at 1080p @ ~10 fps . You have to do a workaround using mjpg-streamer. Here's how to (this walkthrough expects you to have motion already installed): First we need to install dependencies: sudo apt-get i...

Handheld TV -> RPi Case

I've got my RPi for less than a week (my first one that is ;-). Thanks to a great forum, and a community with tons of information, i finally got all the emulators i needed working :D - meaning it was time to find some sort of casing for my RPi. When looking in my drawers for something usefull i ran ...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Hi, When it comes to uae4all, where do you place a game's adf file? And also, where does the kick.rom go? You should place kick.rom (if "pi" is the user you're using) at: /home/pi/RetroPie/emulatorcores/uae4all/ The roms goes into /home/pi/RetroPie/emulatorcores/uae4all/roms/ You start your Amiga e...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Today i installed retropie on a fresh sd-card. It works very well on snes emulation (once joypad and sound is added to the retroarch config). After some heavy digging in old boxes i managed to get uae4all working with a kick.rom file, and i found my old "stunt car racer"! Now for the question i do h...

Prevent Joystick.get_button output?

Hi! I want to create a small "text menu" in which i want to select item with only a gamepad connected. To do this, i thought it would be a great idea to use the pygame's Joystick module, but i keep running into a problem due to some sort of debug mode? this code: jb = j.get_button(1) Outputs a "prin...
