Re: raspi-config doesn't set locale

I tried the "export LC_ALL=C" in my .bashrc and it seems to work. The keyboard mapping seems to make sense now. Here's what I get from the locale command: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE= LC_CTYPE="C" LC_NUMERIC="C" LC_TIME="C" LC_COLLATE="C" LC_MONETARY="C" LC_MESSAGES="C" LC_PAPER="C" LC_NAME="C" LC_ADD...

Re: raspi-config doesn't set locale

Why thanks. That does sound simple. I'll try it tomorrow morning and let you know if it works to fix my keyboard mapping problem. How did you figure this one out?

Thanks
Joe

Re: raspi-config doesn't set locale

I've connected using putty from a Win7 computer and the keymapping looks fine. Had no problem connecting using SSH.

raspi-config doesn't set locale

When I try to set the locale using raspi-config I it doesn't seem to work and messes up my keyboard mapping. Here's what a session looks like: [email protected] ~ $ more locale.txt [email protected] ~ $ sudo raspi-config perl: warning: Setting locale failed. perl: warning: Please check that your locale se...

Re: Network Unreachable

I appreciate the responses. My skill level is medium, since I used to be a Unix administrator (HP & Sun) and have worked networks for the last 25 years out of my 33 years of technical experience. I currently have five Windows computers ( one (1) XP, One (1) Win7 32bit Premium, two (2) Win7 64bit Pre...

Re: Network Unreachable

Now I'm finding my keyboard mapping is not right. I'm getting strange characters when I enter "special" characters like "@", "~" and "|". Things I needs to use.

Re: Network Unreachable

Sure enough, that fixes this problem. Now I don't have any free USB ports. Sort of defeats the reason I checked the compatible devices and chose this particular powered USB hub. I actually went through the list and checked to make sure everything I ordered to support the RPi was considered com...

Re: Network Unreachable

Yes, the RPi is connected to a 8-port D-link GB switch which is connected to the router. I have reserved the IP address for the RPi to use and is within the valid IP range.

Thanks

Network Unreachable

My problem is that my Raspberry Pi will not connect to the network. I suspect this is a hardware issue on the RPi having to do with reading/writing to register index 0x00000114 during boot as shown below. I'm running Wheezy Debian and boot directly to the GUI. I assume the RPi is connecting to my ro...
