Re: V1.0 has brightness control

Hi.

As your original software approach was working then why not allow us to try it?

What would be the consequences of applying that? In your original post you seemed to have it working fine.

Very interesting.
I too would like to know why this feature is not available for us using the first version of the board?

Hi I made the module for you, you can get it here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jcl52tm7dqyu2c0/AABMcvWZaawLenyhaEfiGRm5a?dl=0 These two files should be copied into: /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional/ Then edit /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/onboot.lst and add the line: ENC28J60-4.1.13-piCore+.tcz save file exit editor...

Re: piCorePlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite playe

Hi. That is an interesting HAT you have developed. I have not tried a ENC28J60 to Ethernet adaptor, but I think it might work as we have build the kernel with this option: CONFIG_ENC28J60=m If you are missing some modules when testing, please report back, and I will try to make a package for you wit...

Re: 128MB RS-MMC can't boot w/ any config - 7 blink at best

Hi I'm also using piCore on many different cards, and have never seen a problem as you have here. If I were you I would download the newest piCore.img and burn to your problematic card. If it can boot you know that the card is OK, and you can start looking where in the process of copying your stuff ...

Alternative way to mount raspberry and the screen

Hi. I have been using the new screen mounted as originally described. However, as I often need to change the SD-card I needed to mount the raspberry and the screen in a different way because the manipulation of the card was very awkward. Originally the SD-card is located inside the loop of the flat ...

Re: Linux kernel is now 4.1

Hi

I would like to build a new kernel and modules based on the 4.1.y.

In order to do so I would like to know if your standard kernel which you provide are build on the bcm2835_defconfig or you are using the bcm2709_defconfig.

Thanks

Re: Device tree overlay - dynamic load and unload

Hi
I noticed that Dynamic loading/unloading of device tree is now included in the 4.0.y kernel (and maybe even before that).

So my question is - can it be used already? and if possible what would be the correct syntax?

Please explain the ARCH_BCM2708 to ARCH_BCM2835 change

Hi I have been following on Github the development in the kernel and has observed the development to change from ARCH_BCM2708 to ARCH_BCM2835. However, I don't know the reason/background for this: 1. Why is it important to go with the BCM2835? 2. Is it ready for actual use? should we now start build...

Hi cosycat. Thanks for testing. What kind of raspberry do you use? I know that the RPi2 have some "hissing" problems - but I thought that we have included the work-around suggested here: https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/380 PS: You will get so much better sound using an USB audio card ...

Re: piCorePlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite playe

Hi

I just noticed this about a problem with too much noise = "hiss" in analog audio:
https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/380

So you could try to add "disable_audio_dither=1" to config.txt?

Re: Full config.txt options for RPi2 with default value

Note that a future firmware update will allow a single config.txt to specify options for a Pi2 *and* a Pi1 independently. . Thanks for the info, will this allow us to have two different initramfs one for RPI2 and another for all the "older" RPi's? And then a common field in cmdline.txt like: "initr...

Re: Device tree overlay - dynamic load and unload

Yes, I think dynamic Device Tree is something we could support in future, but it is some way off. Until then, there shouldn't be anything you can do without DT that you can't do with it, unless the specific drivers have some DT detection logic that gets in the way. I suggest you: * Blacklist all of...

Device tree overlay - dynamic load and unload

Hi Is it possible to load and unload a device tree dynamically, so that it can be manipulated without a reboot? I have read that at least the BeagleBone Black seems to allow such a behaviour http://events.linuxfoundation.org/sites/events/files/slides/dynamic-dt-elce14.pdf and here (read the section ...

Hi regarding the initramfs problem, then it seems to be solved for me by using ramfsaddr=-1
This was suggested by ghollingsworth in github.

Re: New device tree kernel is in testing

Hi Phil Can there be a problem with initramfs and the new device tree? The reason for my question is that we have been trying to build piCore on the new 3.18.5 with DT - however we are not able to get it to boot from RAM. We have had no problems with building before the new DT. Cmdline dwc_otg.fiq_f...

Re: New device tree kernel is in testing

On which kernel did the RTL8188CU dongle last work reliably? Have you tried without device tree? So far it doesn't sound like it belongs here. It works OK on 3.12.34. There's a whole lot of new code in the 3.18 kernel for the Realtek WiFi dongles and that could be a real show stopper if you try to ...

Re: Resample squeezelite

Hi

You need to use a special version of squeezelite which is build with the possibility to do resampling via the soxr package.

Ralph Irving is providing such a version.
Also piCorePlayer allows you to resample via squeezelite.

The Pi Hut has responded and I'm sending the defect raspi A+ (USB pins bent) back now.
Hopefully I will have a replacement soon. Then I will carefully attach a USB cable and connect the wifi adaptor to this cable.

What will be done officially in order to correct this issue?

Re: piCorePlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite playe

I think that your LMS is getting confused by the two piCorePlayers. So I would suggest that you give each piCorePlayer an unique MAC-number. Go to the "squeezelite settings" page and give each player a unique MAC number (you could copy paste the actual number and use - it is present next to the inpu...
