Re: cannot set OTP bit program_usb_boot_mode=1

Thank you both for the feedback. USB/network boot is supposed to work even with a Pi1 and it already worked for me with a Pi1 in the past (see https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=160656 ). You just need to put bootcode.bin on a SD card. The problem is that you cannot set the OTP ...

cannot set OTP bit program_usb_boot_mode=1

Hello! I would like to set the bit that enables to do network booting according to the documentation here: https://github.com/raspberrypi/documentation/blob/master/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/msd.md I have used the latest raspbian lite image but the OTP remains unchanged. Tested on both, a Pi1b a...

how to stream camera via MJPEG and H264 simultaneously?

Hello,

is it possible to stream the video of the raspberry pi camera board via MJPEG and H264 (in Full HD) at the same time?

I am flexible when it comes to the H264 streaming container (RTP/HLS/...).

Thank you for your help!

Pi with netboot / nfsroot gets stuck on reboot/shutdown

Hello, is there anything special I need to change to make my Pi properly shutdown / reboot with debian jessie / stretch and an nfsroot? Mine gets stuck and it looks like I am not the only one (see https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/pi-3-booting-part-ii-ethernet-all-the-awesome/#comment-1265851 ) Thank...

network booting with DNSMASQ as proxy DHCP fails

Hello, I would like to setup Pi3 network booting in an environment where I cannot modify the DHCP server. That is why I would like to use the proxy DHCP support via dnsmasq that is described here https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/net_tutorial.md My setup: 192.1...

Re: OpenMAX: H264 encoding to HLS - video won't play

I have gone through the trouble of installing raspbian stretch which comes with gstreamer 1.8.3. I have not tried to compile 1.9.x due to lack of knowledge. I am a gstreamer newbie, so I want to make sure that the basic hlssink stuff works before involving OMX transcoding. My problem is that hlssink...

USB MSD boot fails on Pi3 *AFTER* apt-get upgrade

Hello, I have a Pi3 that runs raspbian jessie lite. It does not use an SD card but does use the new USB MSD boot feature instead. However today I have upgraded my Pi with sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade I have noticed that the bootloader and kernel were upgraded. I rebooted the Pi afterward...

Re: network booting with TFTP server IP != DHCP server IP

Even if I force the DHCP server to provide information about the default gateway, the pi does not try to go through the gateway. It assumes that the TFTP server can be reached without going through the gateway although it is not in the same subnet. So this looks like a real bug of bootcode.bin to me...

Re: network booting with TFTP server IP != DHCP server IP

Thank you both for the quick feedback. forcing ISC DHCP server to provide the option routers is worth trying although I do not expect the Pi to use the information about the default gateway if it is not requesting it. Will try and get back to you. option 66 can indeed be used to specify a different ...

Re: network booting with TFTP server IP != DHCP server IP

It looks to me like this is broken in the current implementation of bootcode.bin and there is currently no way to make this work with a TFTP server in a different subnet. The DHCP discover packet sent by the Pi includes the parameter request list (option 55). This list does not contain the paremeter...

network booting with TFTP server IP != DHCP server IP

Hello, I am currently struggling with an advanced network booting setup. Basic network booting works for me. I understand that the Pi does not follow the usual PXE/DHCP rules. It took me a while to figure out that it ignores the filename statement. I do not like it but there are workarounds so this ...

proper partitioning of USB flash drive?

Hello, I use the Raspberry Pi as a 24/7 download client, so I write/read/delete data on an attached 128GB USB stick all the time. Re: SAT-TV Server
