Re: Device Tree Overlays Using New libgpiod API?

I've been banging my head against this for hours now too and getting nowhere. It really is amazing how complicated some of this stuff appears to be--a simple example that works would help immensely. Sadly I don't have anything to add yet other than I can at least get libgpiod to compile and access t...

Re: mirrordirector.raspbian.org

Ouch, that's a bummer the main site is down. I found a google cache for their mirror list (which unfortunately seems to be hosted on the same raspbian.org server that's down): http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:DeNcvekzG2IJ:https://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianMirrors&hl=en&gl=us&strip...

Re: Gert's VGA add-on for the B+

Anyone know did the 4.1 kernel in Jessie break or change anything in regards to using a DPI display? I'm having a lot of trouble using a modified dt-blob.bin with a DPI display on Jessie unfortunately. Same display and setup works perfectly with the 3.18 kernel in Wheezy, so it's not the hardware si...

mplayer build difference between jessie and wheezy

I was checking out the new jessie build and noticed there's a pretty big difference between the mplayer build available to both releases. With wheezy it looks like it's a custom build from mplayer's subversion repo and has a lot of handy video output types, for example listing all the output types (...

Re: (New) Official nightly full and cutdown/headless images

Is there any chance a nightly Jessie image could be added to the same Wheezy nightly build host? Obviously Jessie isn't supported yet, but having an image would make it a lot easier for people to help test their software against it. Just wanted to throw the suggestion out there, thanks!

Re: Read this if you use Python Spidev

I think I've found another issue with spidev, even using the latest 3.0 version with gadgetoid's fixes. It seems when I enable LSB first mode all other access to GPIO (through the RPi.GPIO library) fails with a Error 22 invalid argument error. Here's a very simple test program that opens /dev/spidev...

Re: Why is the PI2 camera-shy ?

Another fun measurement, with the board totally unplugged and powered down you get a big spike on the 3.3V line from the flash:

It's a feature not a bug, it teaches you about the photoelectric effect.

Re: Why is the PI2 camera-shy ?

Wow interesting, I reproed it with a Pi 2 and a Canon Speedlight flash. I put my oscilloscope on the 3.3V power rail and here's what it looks like when you flash the running board: http://i.imgur.com/hG86pRyl.jpg Drops down to almost 0V and wildly fluctuates for about 100ns. Yikes! Interesting that ...

SD card reader pin bent

Hi all, I was just trying to start my pi for the first time and noticed one of the SD card pins is bent. You can see the farthest pin in this picture: http://i.imgur.com/6q33d.jpg I tried to pry the pin back down, but in the process half the pin snapped off. Fortunately there's enough left that I ca...
