Re: 2.8" TFT + Touch Shield Board

I can't see how to embed videos from YouTube in here so here is the link: http://youtu.be/zxX9cYJKHtM A quick write up of the UI written in python and pygame: http://www.aikitek.org/wordpress/?p=117 I've posted an updated video, similar to the first but with these improvements: Auto start at boot N...

Re: 2.8" TFT + Touch Shield Board

Not sure if anyone already posted this, if you want to boot right into the desktop on the screen, you can add a line to the file by doing: sudo nano /etc/rc.local add this on the line before exit 0 FRAMEBUFFER=/dev/fb1 startx -- -dpi 60 It should boot up right to the desktop on the display. It's pre...

Re: 2.8" TFT + Touch Shield Board

Okay, that means I need to get a breadboard ordered. Thanks for the help. This is a pretty awesome screen, I am glad to have been able to get one from the first set made.

Re: 2.8" TFT + Touch Shield Board

Two issues popping up. With a beginning question that could fix half of it. If I set it to boot to desktop in raspi-config will the screen boot to desktop? Or will it load an occurrence of X that is simply not being used? If that does not fix the problem, is there a way to get it to load the "FRAMEB...

Re: Looking for input for wiring project

I have a RevA and RevB boards. Do to a shipping mistake I got a second one for free. When I called Element14, they said just keep it since it was supposed to be discontinued. I was thinking I was going to do the 16x2 LCD on the RevA and the 2.8" touch screen and ATX on the RevB. Goal for one is to m...

Looking for input for wiring project

Hey all, going to start my first project, or a couple all at once. I just bought a Pibow, an ATXRaspi, button/led for the ATXRaspi, and ordered a 2.8" screen from Texy. On top of going to order a 16x2 LCD from Adafruit when they are in stock in blue. I don't know exactly how to wire this up to get i...

512MB RevB stopping after 1-5 minutes.

Okay, I have a launch 512MB Chinese made Pi. It has been working great up until yesterday. All but the Red LED stay lit, and it stops becoming responsive to ping, and HDMI. Only thing recently done is apt-get upgrade and dist-upgrade. After the update, it all stopped working. I am going to reflash a...

Re: Push button to send email

Not a pro, nor do I have experience with the GPIO. But, I imagine that the program is sending the email away because input has a value thus being True. Do a print input, to get it's value. Then change your if statement to a while statement. Because it isn't going to wait for any input. It is either ...

Re: Custom MOTD - Message of the Day

I found all of your information really helpful. I have one question, though. I went a little above and beyond on the formatting. Is there any way to have items that need multiple lines retain formatting? Confusing... I know, so a picture! :) Notice how the A: is way to the left? Is it possible to ge...

Re: Getting started... headless

Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I couldn't get a solid ssh connection until after running the initial config. So, I had to use a keyboard for a minute to get it set up. Then it went back to being headless.

Looking to donate one.

I have one Model B 256MB RasPi that I would like to donate. I don't mind where it goes, as long as it is to a school. The only thing I require is a prepaid shipping label. Anyone interested, please contact me from your elementary / high school email at chase(dot)hainey(at)gmail(dot)com. If this viol...

Re: Setting up HDMI output

Thanks! Got my RasPi looking good on my 42" HDMI TV. With sound, even! Took a few tries to figure out what worked the best, but it isn't off the screen, nor is it blown up x100.
