Re: NEMA 24 stepper motor & DRV-8825 stepper motor drive

First of all can I just point out that the website you linked to is nothing to do with the Raspberry Pi site or foundation. That cleared up you may want to post your code as I'm guessing that's where the problem lies. Wired and coded correctly, you shouldn't have any problems driving a stepper motor...

This module has dependencies, might be worth looking into.

Re: operators seem to work backwards

You've a flaw in your code. You set both time1 and time2 to be the same. In your loop you update time1 then check if time2 is greater than it which will never happen. Then your next condition (after the else) updates time2 and checks to see if it's less than time1 which, again, will never happen. Do...

Re: Python 2 to Python 3 help

You need the libraries for both the sensor and the display for the same version of Python.
eg. If you can't get the sensor library for Python 3 then stick with Python 2 and vice versa. If you can't get both libraries for the same version it ain't gonna work without some serious effort.

https://github.com/TAXIIProject/libtaxii/issues/203 someone's had similar problems. It seems to be a shared library issue but I know nothing about that.

Re: Neuronet & power regulation

We may need more information on your project to answer this but from what I think you're asking a neural network may be a bit of overkill. Have you looked at a PID controller instead?

Re: How to read I2C values with python smbus from BQ27441 (battery fuel gauge)

I think you're getting mixed up between the address of the i2c device and the command codes to send. Have a look here https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruits-raspberry-pi-lesson-4-gpio-setup/configuring-i2c and scroll down to the part about "Testing I2C", that will show you how to find the address of y...

Re: AMS812 Pressure sensor IO error with Python

The AMS811 / 812 are low-power microprocessor
(µP) supervisory circuits used to monitor power supplies
in µP and digital systems.
Could you check your details and post again (and put your code between the 'Code' tags in the editor, it makes it easier to read.)

I wouldn't bother using threading for the UI, data recording, etc. but certainly for the data aquisition if the sensors are laggy.

Re: How to assign hysteresis/Schmitt trigger to an Input?

According to this site https://www.circuits.dk/everything-about-raspberry-gpio/ GPIO input hysteresis (Schmitt trigger) can be on or off, output slew rate can be fast or limited, and source and sink current is configurable from 2 mA up to 16 mA. See GPIO Datasheet Addendum – GPIO Pads Control.[Ref.4...

Unfortunately not, I've had problems running simple things from Idle. I now use PyCharm with Anaconda for developing, works for me.

Re: Raspberry LX terminal odd behaviour

Try putting print statements after each chunk of code with a small delay afterwards to see where the problem is starting, eg.

Code: Select all

# Set the GPIO modes
print "Setting GPIO modes"
GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM)
GPIO.setwarnings(False)
time.sleep(5)
(you'll need to import the time module of course).
