Never had such a laugh

. Just read about two police officers in the north of UK that zapped (electro-chocking to pacify) a blind man, mistaken him for walking with a samurai sword. Now - I know that thay drive in the wrong side and eat terrible food in the UK, but... mistaken a blind-stick for a samurai sword ...... whats...

Avoiding boot with USB power

The PI boots when i connect the powered USB hub. Obviously it gets powered from the USB but this is not a good option i think... I got the HUB to power Keyboard , Mouse and alternatively a small HDD (usb powered). I don't want to risk exceeding the 0.5 A standard max output and/or power anyting from...

Re: Make a section with conclusions

I understand what You think... There is alot of contribution from people that have used their effort and time to investigate... But consider how much it it worth for others that are unaware of the good parts... So therefore we see the same problems posted again and again, buried in pages... So at on...

Make a section with conclusions

This is a suggestion: Taking the topic SD Card performance in R-Pi onboard slot i simply do not have the energy, wisdom and stamina to read and extract the actual good fact from 12 pages of discussion.... I am very keen at getting the most performance from the SD card, but not from reading, evaulati...

Keyboard layout for Your country

Haven't seen any guide here for making the keyboard showing Your national characters - like german or swedish Ö in the console (that is from boot). Not that the national charaters are exactly usefull in console due to the OS's english nature - BUT by god - You need to have the keyboard configured to...

Re: Please inform better about flaws

Did you read the wiki, it has quite an extensive section on power supply choices, and problems. By the way a 16A fuse as a replacement for the PI's polyfuse? are you sure? at least its resistance will be low enough, but as a fuse its not much of use, you might as well solder a thick (1mm) co...

Re: Please inform better about flaws

If the polyfuse has blown before you did anything with it you should trade it in under guarantee. Its not a systematic design error of the PI. The fuse should be a fraction of an ohm when new. Only overheating it strongly would increase its resistance for a period of several hours to a few days. I ...

Re: Please inform better about flaws

If you put much more than 5.25 Volt on "je ding" then you run the risk of triggering the overvoltage protection device on the PI, which, to protect it, will then short the 5V line to GND, and yes, this will blow your polyfuse, so afterward you could indeed find that it tries to limit the current fl...

. Why - wonder how many pull-out / push-in the micro usb can withstand 500 ? maybe 700.....or more... USB Micro-B connectors are rated at 10,000 insertions — see the “ Universal Serial Bus 3.0 Connectors and Cable Assemblies Compliance Document ”, Table 3.1, under Durability . wow - but how many do...

Yes - with afterthoughts - I must say that i find it rather disputable that the foundation advert so openly about overclocking, without considering all the problems it may cause to newbies and other users that very likely feel very tempted to jump on the overclock-waggon... And this with a device t...

Add just two pins for power off

. I would love.... 1) A pair of 2 main power pins on the board (like the GPIO's) that could either be strapped (from factory) and optional wired to an external power switch. Why - wonder how many pull-out / push-in the micro usb can withstand 500 ? maybe 700.....or more... 2) A pizza right now (not ...

The polyfuse polka..... This is my story: I get an fairly quality 5V-1A charger and discover that the RPi's testpoints says 4.6 Volt. Not good i think and grab an 6V-1A adapter, and solder an 1N4004 diode in series onto the cord to get a 0.7 Voltage drop. Now i have 5.5Volt unloaded and 4.75 on the ...

I would like a corner of the printboard formed as a can-opener - if I one day should get tired of the Pi (god forbid). :D Joke aside - I think there is 1.000.000.000.000.000.000,23 (good) whishes for features, which all - more or less - would raise the price to a unaccepable level... DON'T TRUST

(sorry the caps)

The Micro SD with a "normal" adapter (You know - those small SD's for phones that is sold with accompaning SD adapter).

Those may be notorious unreliable due to looseness and/or bad contacts in the slot..
