Re: Raspberry Pi Zero Audio

Ok its me, or something when the software installed. Somehow an audio file (aplay) was running as root. I didn't hear anything coming from the speaker. But I killed the process and ran my own test and it is working. I need figure out where this is coming from.

Cheers.

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero Audio

Yes. First thing I checked. I have tried several audio files. Here is what I am doing exactly: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cd /usr/share/sounds/alsa/ pi@raspberrypi:/usr/share/sounds/alsa $ ls Front_Center.wav Front_Left.wav Front_Right.wav Noise.wav Rear_Center.wav Rear_Left.wav Rear_Right.wav Side_Left.wav...

Raspberry Pi Zero Audio

Hi there, hopefully there is somebody out there that can point me in the right direction. As the title says, I have an Rpi Zero and I wanted to have it play some audio. Nothing super fancy. I am using this web page as my guisde: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-max98357-i2s-class-d-mono-amp/raspb...

Re: Status LEDs to GPIO header

Ok I have ordered the 2N2222 transistors and then I will give this a go. Thank you for the help. Will post results when it is done.

Re: Status LEDs to GPIO header

Very helpful, but maybe not dumbed down enough for me. Sorry. I have put together a pic that shows what I *think* it would be wired up as. The only thing I am not sure is which wires go to where on the NPN 2N2222. To be honest, I don't even know if this is correct in any way.

Re: Status LEDs to GPIO header

I also wanted to add that I found this page: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/42581/attaching-a-led-to-pics-rx-pin And I used the info from the last post. Maybe I just hook this all up incorrectly. What I did was split the TX signal running one wire to the rs232 and the other to the B...

Re: Status LEDs to GPIO header

Wow awesome. Thank you so much. I seem to be going around and around on this and it is all new territory for me. I will be upfront and say I do not know a ton when it come to electronics. More of the user side of things. But I can solder and with a bit of help I can figure things out. Here is what I...

Re: Status LEDs to GPIO header

Sorry, I should have been specific. I have a serial interface (RS232) connected to the TX and RX pins on the Pi. Wanted to get those connected up to LEDs.

Re: Status LEDs to GPIO header

Hi, I was wondering if you might be able to provide a step by step tutorial on what you did to get the TX and RX to output to an LED? I have tried multiple solutions using non-GPIO methods and have had no luck to get anything working.

Cheers!

Re: Running LEDs

Was planning on using a 330 ohm resistor. Is there something else needed? Sorry bit of a noob to be honest, just enough to be dangerous.

Running LEDs

Hi folks, I hope somebody can answer what I hope is an easy question. Could not seem to find a clear answer during my google searches. I am building a project running a Raspberry Pi Zero to a serial board. All is working fine. I would like to add some LEDs to show RX and TX activity. I think I can u...
