no more pd-extended

Just got a zero wifi and tried installing pd-extended using this method: https://puredata.info/downloads/pd-extended-0-43-3-on-raspberry-pi-raspbian-wheezy-armhf I installed a few raspberry 3 using this method and it always worked (on raspbian Jessie I think), but this time no luck, the "sudo apt-ge...

python program to read SPI

Hello, I have a python program (that I didn't made) which communicate with a 16 channels PWM shield in I2C to control 5V vibration motors, and it creates an OSC server (with liblo) to communicate with pure data or another computer. It uses Adafruit_I2C.py. It was develloped using a first gen raspber...

Re: can't apt-get anything

tried apt-get clean (which works but does nothing) apt-get install -f (which fails the same way), dpkg -a --configure There is a S01motd in my etc folder so I know it's there. I'm not sure but seems like the issue started after a dist-upgrade (from a 2 years old version of raspbian). also did rpi-up...

can't apt-get anything

Hi, today I tried to setup the i2c tools, and got an error during the installation, after it has downloaded everything: Preconfiguring packages ... Setting up initscripts (2.88dsf-41+deb7u1) ... insserv: fopen(S01motd): No such device or address update-rc.d: error: insserv rejected the script header...

Re: PI as a wireless midi controller interface

That sounds awesome, I'm trying something similar with the LPD8 and using it to control lights. I also am trying to get the PI to sync to Traktor with midi time code and IPMidi but am having trouble with midimulticast. It should work in a similar way, how do you do it? (you could also use a standal...

PI as a wireless midi controller interface

Hey, just thought I shared a simple Use I found with a pi. For the needs of a musical performance, I use a small usb midi keyboard (LPK 25 http://www.akaipro.com/lpk25 ) that I carry around as a kind of remote to trigger events (and also as a basic keyboard) during shows. Until now I use long usb ca...

glad to help for once
(obvsiously you use the id and ip adress you like instead)

Re: ad-hoc wifi network rtl 8188cu

ok nevermind, I got it working with not much trouble in fact, for those wondering, apparently the driver is automatically installed (I have the last sept. 2012 wheezy, with all updates and firmware updates), and I just followed a basic tutorial to use adhoc on linux so I did this (as sudo): (the fir...

ad-hoc wifi network rtl 8188cu

As the title suggest, I want to create an ad-hoc wifi network between my pi and my computer or phone to be able to ssh directly trough it without the proximity of a router. I just got this adapter: http://blog.modmypi.com/2012/09/installing-wireless-usb-11n-nano.html I have no idea how to do this, t...

Re: Got Puredata working w/ Sound

yes thanks for the info, I've given hope on the internal audio though, it's really awful (looks like an 8 bit soundcard from the 90's) but I'm looking forward to fidling with midi and gpio through puredata, midi works well (but it's still not really clear when you have several midi I/o including vir...

mosfets to control solenoids. specia warnings?

Hi, I have not an extensive knowledge of electronics, but would like to hook the gpio pins to transistors and command solenoids (it's a musical project I've done before with preassembled midi boards but would like to make a portable version of, and possibly learn a few things out of it). First I was...

Re: Turbo-mode "proof" SD card

I had the same bug, Don't exactly known what solved it, but what I did was run rasp-config and choose a different speed mode (950), immediatly shutdown, booted and made sure the config.txt was ok (it was), then again raspi-config,choose the turbo speed mode, immediate shutdown and boot again and it ...

very simple audio/midi player/sequencer

I'm trying to find a simple soft to play one or two audio tracks and a few midi tracks together, which would work on the raspberry, and which doesn't require jack. The midi would go through an interface, maybe through pure data on the way for filtering, and the audio would go on a cheap usb audio in...

Re: ALSA on Raspbian

Hi, recenlty tried my raspi, installed the last wheezy, my goal would be to run pure data, including sound and midi or gpio if I can get it working. Right now i'm a little frustrated because I have no luck with the sound. tried almost everything in the topic, ans somewhere else, and so far: -vlc, mp...
