try the new version (same commands as above, it's already updated on the site)
but enable the YUV option in the script and let me know if this fixes it

Fixed! The update from 30-10-2012 includes now the YUV option, default disabled. It crashed at the beginning, once every 2-3 days, but then a good fried wrote a script that starts the stream only when user requests the stream (opens the page with the embedded live image) and if it fails to respond after 2sec, it kills the process and restarts it. There is some problem with your webcam/driver, it should be listed there if recognized. Unfortunately I have no much Linux experience to help more. There is nothing special about it.
I use Logitech C210 which has 640x480 native video resolution. Photo resolution is bigger, but it doesn't count for this.
Make sure you webcam suports this resolution and install the script from my site.
Should work.

solved it myself :) with v4l-utils

sudo apt-get install v4l-utils
v4l2-ctl --list-ctrls
v4l2-ctl --set-ctrl brightness=200
v4l2-ctl --set-ctrl saturation=32
...
