Anyone who spends time supporting any of these awesome xbmc versions is a righteous dude in my book. It helps if the support comes from someone who can not only read, but undertand what they read, and not just post the same non advice ad nauseum - but hey, not everyone is cut out to be a Roy or Moss

I never said "GUI responsiveness will always be slower" as a standalone statement as raspbmc was the last to use 720p UI, and given that all 3 distros use the same XBMC (close enough), then it's obvious that WHILE YOU BUCKED AGAINST the 720p UI and stayed with 1080p UI, your UI would always be slowe...

Openelec has ssh enabled ... user root, password openelec

but, openelec is not based on raspbian, so your link wont help a "complete noob" ... in openelec, if you can't add it thru the xbmc menus, it's damned hard (relatively) to add

recent linux kernels have severe issues with ext4 (3.4, 3.5 and 3.6) - so, lets hope raspbian sticks with 3.2 series until that is resolved

Hi guys Remember that XBian and OpenELEC are capping their resolutions at 720p and upscaling to 1080p to get 60fps. This is why Raspbmc may seem slower in UI. Nonetheless, playback should be pretty even across all platforms why does standard raspbmc config overclock the Pi to 840, with force_turbo=1?

Actually, this is very wrong. I do not agree that users should be forced to use a 720p resolution. I have now provided the option to toggle between 720p upscaled to 1080p, or native 1080p 1:1 pixel mapping. Never did I state that video output was capped. could you make the photos a bit bigger

it's hard to make out what you're pictures are of - to the untrained eye, it looks like mainly a desk, with bits and pieces of every day things like power plugs, and usb plugs and sockets etc

not all 4GB SD cards are the same size ...

as you can see, the Element 14 disk is only 3790 x 1MB

apparently, the sandisk is 3781 x 1MB
