I am really suprised My Samsung TV remote can control XBIAN!

As title... never expected to work as Pi do not have IR receiver and my Pi is behind a wall. I accidentally used my Samsung LED TV's remote to control Xbian, it worked. After a few menu movements I realized that it was impossible! Here is my theory: they both connect to the same LAN, somehow Xbian /...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

I had problem with youtube plugin a few days ago, so I thought it was a problem of xbian, thus I tried Openelec and raspbmc. To be honest. I really love xbian, the UI is so smooth. Openelec and raspbmc both have lags on UI movement. I immediately flashed back to xbian. I read somewhere mentioned tha...

Don't trust build-in SD card slot, use an USB SD card reader

My thinkpad W510 has a build in SD card reader. I was using it to write the image to my adata 32G card... it always fails at 75%, then stuck there forever. Tried to format the card (took a LONG time), still no go.... finally, grabbed the free SD card came with my Raspberry Pi order from diygadget.co...

How did you get it to work?

I did a fresh xbian 0.6.3 install, then wget to download the 2 zip file, and then in xbian add-on menu, select to instal from zip (installed script first then youtube plugin)

Can you please let me know your steps?

thanks

I only have two micro USB cables, one from Samsung phone and one generic, same thing for both... the voltage is just 4.4v sometimes it drops to 4.2v. Also, not sure what happened, now my xbian ...

Re: TV flicking - under power issue? same on xbian and raspb

The voltage between TP1 and TP2 is 4.4v, so I guess I am having power problem. Removed network cable, same result. Tried an old PC switching power, still 4.4v between TP1 and TP2. However the voltage on switching power side (Red and black) is 5.04v, so somehow there is a drop of 0.64v. is there a sc...

TV flicking - under power issue? same on xbian and raspbmc

OK, installed xbian 0.6.3, connected pi to my Samsung 55" LED TV, it cause flicking video on my TV. Didn't play any video file, just the interface is flicking. It is ok on my monitor. When it flicks, it seems the HDMI signal is gone, my TV outputs: check signal... then after 1 second, it comes back,...
