Re: Get apache SSL Certificate for Pi Zero?

For plain Raspbian or RaspiOS running Apache2 you land here: https://certbot.eff.org/lets-encrypt/debianbuster-apache On that page it says this: 1. SSH into the server SSH into the server running your HTTP website as a user with sudo privileges. 2. Install snapd You'll need to install snapd and mak...

Re: Pi 4 not booting

I'm just going to go through the basics, but if you already know this, please forgive me. Firmware is permanent software. It is written to the Pi's EEPROM (electronically erasable programmable read-only memory). Something must have happened to the Pi's EEPROM, which is what's preventing it from boot...

Get apache SSL Certificate for Pi Zero?

Hi. I have a Raspberry Pi Zero W that hosts an apache 2 webserver. I know how to use CertBot to get an SSL certificate for it, but it requires snapd, which doesn't run on the Pi zero. Does anybody know another way to get a certificate for this? Thanks in advance!

Re: Raspberry pi Zero W 2ghz?

I doubt it -- 2GHz isn't a standard wifi band, according to Wikipedia. Google also returns no results for it. Are you sure you don't mean 2.4GHz? My apologies! I was on a wifi network for a hotel and it just said "2g" while all the other ones (even the ones from that same hotel but on low...

Create interactive webpage with LEDs and PiCamera?

Hi. I use GPIOZero for python on my Pi 4B. I was thinking of doing a little project that will allow users to go to my website and interact with me through a circuit board and the picamera. Basically, they'll have a display of buttons on the web page, and each one of those buttons is linked to an led...

Raspberry pi Zero W 2ghz?

Hi. I know that the Pi Zero W can't access 5ghz. But is it able to access 2ghz wifi? Not 2.4ghz, 2. I know this post was a little bit short, but my query was simple. Anyway, thanks in advance!

Oh, my mistake. I must've understood wrong. Unfortunately, I'm not much help here, because I really don't have multiple subdomains or domains hosted from my Pi.

Why can't I launch some GUI apps in a virtual desktop?

Hi. I run my pi headless, and I set up noVNC with a virtual environment. When I go to launch some apps like Blender, it says that it can't open it on display :1.0. I have no idea why. Does anyone know how I can set it so that everything, by default, will launch in the virtual desktop? I've tried EXP...

Hi. I wanted to ask about programming an application (GUI) for the raspberry pi on Github, but I have no clue how to do this or where to start. I don't even know what programming language to use. I literally have no idea where to start. Could anyone give me some advice, or an online tutorial or some...

I don't know how to make blocks that move in Minecraft (to build a working tank), :x    :?: I think that it would also be really handy if you could tell me how to make the (cross?) bow shoot, and make a gun. I think that you've guessed what I want to make: a tank, right ;) :geek: ! ...

Deeply sorry about that. I had (and have) no intention of trying to imitate you, and I can completely understand your concern. I'd probably feel the same way. I really admire your work, though. It's very good. I've removed it as my avatar. Best of wishes!

GPIO read frequency with python?

Hi. I'm currently attempting to make a device with the Pi 4B that will read brainwaves and detect if you're focused or relaxed. There's one problem, though. I have no clue how to read the input frequency to the GPIO pin(s). I've looked around, but a lot of the stuff I've tried is out of date or too ...

Re: Multicam setup cross platform

There's a project that I use with my Pi Zero called Motion. Basically you connect a camera to a camera to the pi (you could do multiple, but they'd have to be on the same pi, I think), and you go to raspberrypi.local:8080 to see a view of all the cameras. You can use the tutorial below. https://pimy...

Hi. I'm trying to turn my raspberry pi into a little work station that hosts its own wifi network. I've gotten noVNC and Motion working (links below), and it's going pretty great. Just to add: This will only work if the FREE space on the SD-card of the target raspi is larger than the complete SD-card size in your to-be-backuped raspi. Othwise you end up with a mess.
That's a good point. Probably wouldn't have noticed that....

Re: Is this tutorial still up-to-date?

What do you need to back up? This method will include everything, all the system files and all the blank space on the card. Using a command like rsync — which has slightly fiddly syntax — can backup the bits of the filesystem you want, much more quickly. Thanks for the quick response! I really want...
