Re: What is the most popular operating system for sny SBC?

There are a few you can select from the Pi Downloader, but since you are starting out. Use the default one, have a play and see what they make easy for you. By then you'll know more and can try others out if you have a curiosity about them. Since the OP now states that he has 15 SBCs (all Pi?), I t...

Re: What is the most popular operating system for sny SBC?

I didnt mean for this thread to get so off topic, some one said on the first page "that depends on what the op thinks an SBC is" thats when i posted what i felt an SBC is or stands for. I never really heard the term SBC till i started searching around about these smart tv boxes, android tv boxes med...

Re: What is the most popular operating system for sny SBC?

Well i have a Pi 4 with the wifi and bluetooth, what is this device considered? Ive always thought of it as a single board computer. CPU, GPU, ram and a way to store data on it with inputs and outputs to do other tasks. I guess TV boxes are like a single board computer but they dont seem to have the...

I have a few of the android tv boxes i figured if i stick with an SBC it will have some support for a while where the boxes are just what ...

Re: can i run the pi4 hard with no cooling?

yeah i have soe kind of armor case that is just a big wrap around heatsink, i even use a 2 or 3mm gel pad on the back side so the heatsink on the bottom does some cooling as well. I then sit the whole thing on a 120mm fan that has little feet so it stays pretty cool.

Re: can i run the pi4 hard with no cooling?

Well i installed a game on the linage 17 called Asphalt 8 and the graphics were stuck on high and i thought maybe if i ran it with no cooling at the start it would throttle back and lock the setting at low. Then i could slap the heatsink back on and it would run better locked on the lowest setting. ...

I take back my previous post, after messing with Linage 10 i think its better then i thought. The GPU in it is better, it has a much sharper image then the processors mentioned. I didnt mess with the pi OS much i just used it to make sure it would work then searched linage, i figured 9 or linage 16 ...

Re: Pi4 SoC compared to other SoC?

The VideoCore based SoCs are used in Broadcom's Set Top Box Divisions Products, though the Raspberry Pi Tradings ARMv7 / ARMv8 SoCs variants are only used in the Raspberry Pi SBC's. There is an undisclosed other customer that uses the BCM2711 as well. No clue who that is. when i searched that soc i...

Pi4 SoC compared to other SoC?

If you were to forget everything else what Soc would be compared to the Pi4 soc?

Like if it was compared to a Rockchip SoC, or an Allwiner, Amlogic, does the Broadcom BCM2711 SoC compare to any of those?
