Re: Effect Unit/pedal (for guitar or other instrument)

I was wondering if it's possible to build the Raspberry Pi into the guitar and have 6 or 8 pickup coils attach to it so that they can be connected together in any combination or phase from a web interface run from a laptop and add in effects to any of the signals and feed those to channels on record...

Re: Rpi is cheap, peripherals are not!

I had the same experience when i first started working with Arduino. It is gonna cost some green to start geeking around with electronics. ;-) Fortunately for me now, i have a lot of stuff, and am just waiting for my logic level converter parts, so i can use my arduino's features via ArduinoPi , wh...

Re: Quake 3 Arena at 60 FPS

Anyway it stops part way through with a fatal error - GLES/gl.h: no such file or directory compilation terminated. Texy I had similar issues, what I found was the Class 10 SD card I was using started to get errors when I used the Turbo mode on Raspian (it had previously worked on the normal 700mhz ...

Re: Other ARM hardware?

The star of the show is more expensive still, but with 4 cores running at 1.4Ghz, the ODROID-X is an absolute rocket ship compared to the Raspberry Pi... It still only has 1Gig of ram, which is a bit of a limitation for a desktop, but it is certainly the fastest by far, arguably faster than even a ...

Re: Case cooling

Only of you clock it as high as it will go might you even need to consider a fan.
Personally I'm waiting for some cheap heatsinks to arrive from Taiwan and then I'll give passive cooling a try for overclocking.

Re: RS cases - cheapest?

Cheapest case in England (or the UK) would probably be the Yoctopuse design if you buy it off eBay (see elsewhere). Cost: £3.33 Postage and packaging: £1.00 Total: £4.33 Once you have it bolted together it is very solid. I throw mine in my bag every day to go to work without anything else around it ...

Re: Apple IPHONE 3 OS - porting /ROKU player

Why would you want to?

There are going to be plenty of more useful things to run on the Pi.

Re: Games on "Cartridges"

I'd suggest just producing a system that can run the games and a development environment on a more powerful system that can be used to develop them, the last thing you want is to be hamstrung by the limitations of the Raspi as a development environment, though you could provide a more limited develo...

Re: Iridium Rising - 3D space combat for the Pi

Good start, looking at that it's the kind of chase your tail shoot shoot shoot type of game that occurs because of the game physics. It would be better if there was some system that encouraged more interaction and less too and throwing between ships rather than watching the target accelerate away th...

Exactly what I got, a small cheap hackable system that doesn't run windows and can do most stuff using low power.
:D

It can be clocked under warranty and plays 1080p video and Quake 3 - what more do you want?

Re: Coolblock extra's!

There is it getting hot and then there is increasing the weight of the Pi by about 100 times.
I doubt it needs anything more than 2 or 3 vga memory chip coolers.

Though this does look cool. :D

Would something along the lines of the Odroid X be more suited to this?
Or would the graphics power still be too low?

Re: Yoctopuce Cases For sale again

Just put together one of your cases and though it's a little fiddly with the plastic side supports for the board it was still a 2 minute job to put together. I put 3 of the supports in on one side, added the board, put the remaining ones in, added the top (which is when it became more stable), then ...

Re: Android On RasPi

With Android the memory is both physical memory and storage and that split can be changed. The Raspberry Pi boots from the SD Card and surely it uses that as it's OS storage, so if you can split off it's physical memory and it's storage in the same way Android does but onto two separate physical dev...

Pi Wrap

So is anyone working on a 3D printer for the Pi?

Definitely could call it Pi Wrap.

It could be a good one for kids in schools as they can start printing their own objects.
