Re: HOWTO: Virtual Raspbian on Qemu in Ubuntu Linux 12.10

Can I set higher cpu speed in config.txt when use qemu? Theoretically, I can set much larger freq values than on real pi and it should work? Or not?

Latest openelec builds for pi has kernel 3.6 and it works fine. When should we expect 3.6 kernel for raspbian?

Re: is Realtek RTL8188SU wifi donglesupported by any damn w

For me it works (raspbian and network manager). But only 802.11b/g mode. I need to disable 802.11n on my router to make it working. I wifi is 802.11n this card don't work - it tries to connect but without success. I think linux drivers are still buggy, the same issue on my desktop system (and recent...

Re: Alsaequal on raspberry pi - problems

Does it make any difference putting it in /etc/asound.conf instead of ~/.asoundrc? I pasted straight from the file, so am quite sure I didn't make any typos, but I have my config in /etc and no .asoundrc. I wouldn't have thought that would make a difference, but possibly worth trying. This don't ma...

Re: Alsaequal on raspberry pi - problems

Your .asoundrc don't work for me. This vlc output:

Code: Select all

ALSA lib conf.c:1686:(snd_config_load1) _toplevel_:5:1:Unexpected char
ALSA lib conf.c:3406:(config_file_open) /home/pi/.asoundrc may be old or corrupted: consider to remove or fix it

So, if there is any solution to make vlc work with OpenMax, I think it's good idea to place OpenMax-enabled .deb in raspbian repository

Re: How to boot kernel 3.2.0-3-rpi?

So, I used kernel sources as described above to build latest it913x driver. Compilation without any errors, but modprobe fails: [email protected]:/home/pi# modprobe dvb-usb-it913x ERROR: could not insert 'dvb_usb_it913x': Exec format error So, it seems this is still not valid kernel source? F2FS file system?

Hello, Small suggestion to raspbian developers: F2FS is a new filesystem for Linux aimed at NAND flash memory-based storage devices, such as SSD, eMMC, and SD cards. It is based on Log-structured File System (LFS). Because pi uses flash sd card as storage device, maybe it's good idea to use f2fs for...

Hdmi->DVI-D cable - resolution problems

Hello, I'm trying to use hdmi->dvi-d cable to connect monitor without hdmi. Generally, it works, but all settings from config.txt are ignored. It may work. But, I didn't mean changing card priority. I meant how to prevent integrated card module to load? On desktop system (PC, debian), it's enough to add kernel module to modprobe's blacklist.conf. And after reboot - module won't load and card will not be supported. But - when I do the same ...

You will have to either manually copy it to kernel.img or modify config.txt to boot it. How should I setup config.txt? Changing kernel=kernel.img To kernel=vmlinuz-3.2.0-3-rpi will make system unbootable. But I really can't reccomend actually using that kernel as when I tried it myself I found it u...

But, Raspian is armhf recompiled to armv6. And here: http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/downlo ... -armel.zip is wheezy armel (not armhf). So this is the same as official Debian armel (compiled for armv4)?
