Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Finally I got my edimax ew-7811un working on 2012-08-16-wheezy-raspbian and xbian 0.6.3. For some strange reason beyond my understanding my '8192cu-20120726.tar.gz' file was 220 KB when i downloaded it using Vodafone Mifi, when I downloaded again using my 3 Phone I got a complete file 222 KB. On 220...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Thanks Colvis for the help. If i understand correctly you are suggesting 3 changes - Put "device does not support scanning" in network-list.txt file - Put EXITSTATUS=0 at two places in the script I guess 'EXITSTATUS=0' will just help ignore following messages and proceed further. Is that correct? ec...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Do you have any 8192cu-2012xxyy.tar.gz files in your home directory. If you do delete them or move them to a different directory. These files in the home directory will stop the script working properly. I am not sure but I will check later today, but this is what I did last time. I have not interne...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

MrEngman I don't know why it is not being created but as it doesn't exist I am sure this is probably why the wifi is not installing. 2012-08-16-wheezy-rasbian is the primary image I now use to test the script and there really shouldn't be any problems installing the Edimax with this image. It could...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Hi Kevin My Pi gives me Hardware : BCM2708 Revision : 0004 I have seen the Edimax light blinking when I put in the OpenELC SD card, though openELC could not auto configure the Edimax I believe. I didn't do further investigation on this. MrEngman Yes the script is identifying the Edimax details corre...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Thanks Kevin & MrEngman Kevin you asked Does the WiFi blink at all? - NO Didn't see a keyboard listed... What happens if you just hook up the Edimax and keyboard to the RPi USB ports and don't use the hub at all? - Ans. Keyboard is RiiTek RT-MWK01, I tried putting keyboard and Edimax in Pi and in Hu...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Hi I am facing an issue configuring my EDIMAX EW-7811Un on Pi. This is my first time with installation/driver etc on Linux. Using below devices and configuration - Belkin 7 Port USB Hub F5U700 - huawei mifi e586 as wifi router (it can connect 5 machines) - 2012-08-16-wheezy-raspbian - Using MrEngman...

Re: Request for Failing sdcards

How to get the SD card details like ID, vendor etc. I am using Sandisk 4g micro sd class 4 card and its not working. I thought let me get the card id details and match it with the list of good cards on wiki. http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#SD_cards did google but no avail. can someone expl...
