Re: Raspberry pi 4 - enable HugeTLB hugepages

Hello. The default kernel does not have hugepages support. I downloaded the kernel source and enabled hugepages via make menuconfig. Also enabled the huge pages support for pseudo filesystems. Followed some instructions from elsewhere actually. But when I boot RP4 with this new kernel and filesyste...

Pi4 Huge Pages

Hi Everyone,

I enabled hugepages on RP4, when i run the command

Code: Select all

cat /proc/meminfo | grep Huge
the output is:

Code: Select all

AnonHugePages: 28672 kB
ShmemHugePages: 0 kB
FileHugePages: 0 kB
Can someone help me to understand that ?
AnonHugePages is the maximum usable size ?

Thank you.

Re: Help about recompiling kernel from source Rp4

What are you trying to do? Your kernel compiling adventures keep going off on weird tangents. Last time you were trying to compile the modified Re4son kernel so I've no idea why you're trying to compile the stock Linux kernel now. Is there a reason why you need that specific tree? The Raspberry Pi ...

Unlimited Scrollback on command line Rp OS (64 bit)

HI Everyone,

I need to set unlimited scrollback on command line.
I tried to do that by editing /boot/cmdline.txt and appending fbcon=scrollback:1024k but it does not work.

Trying into

Code: Select all

terminal -> Display -> Scroll-back lines
the maximum value is 100000.

How can i do that ?

Thank you.

You already disabled it via the menu. CONFIG_DEVMEM is a completely different option which completely disables /dev/mem.
Thank you.

Yes. You need to to CONFIG_DEVMEM back on. You didn't need to manually edit the config file.

Yes i know, but the problem is I can not find the kernel source.

Here https://re4son-kernel.com/re4son-pi-kernel/ there is no support for Pi4.

https://github.com/Re4son/re4son-kernel-builder looks to be how they compile the kernel. You'll need to ask them for help if anything doesn't work or you don't understand. I've never used that tool or the Re4son kernel.
Thank you so much for your help.
