Re: Recalbox on ntsc tv?

I press shift and 4 on boot and it just gives me "Select OS to boot" and RecalboxOS.pi3 is the only thing on the menu. There is no other option but boot recalbox.

Recalbox on ntsc tv?

Hi! My pi3 is connected to a crt TV and I want to play with recalbox. I downloaded the zip and copied it to the card and booted the pi...nothing on screen. I took out the card and put it on my pc and read the readme file (probably should have done that first) and it said if you don't see anything hi...

Re: Pi 3 not booting images from older Pies

I got it sorted out. Someone on a raspberri pi face book group told me I just needed to boot the card on a pi1 and update raspi-config and then "sudo aptitude upgrade raspberrypi-bootloader libraspberrypi-bin libraspberrypi0" A few minutes of updating and I put the card in the pi3 and poof it works....

So they're not backward compatible? The few blurbs I saw said they were backward compatible with the 2 and 1. Why aren't they backward compatible?

Pi 3 not booting images from older Pies

Hi. I just got a couple of new Pi3's to do some bartop arcade cabs. A few years ago I built a few using mame4all with advmenu using PI version 1 256: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-p6f5DxiXo I got the bug again to build some more, so I got the new PIes, and have had no troubles setting up and pla...

I used an earlier image (2013-05-25-wheezy-raspbian.img) on the same sd card and it booted fine on both pies.

kernel panic on 2015-01-31 raspian model B

hi! I just pulled my raspberry pi model B (the older model before the mounting holes) out from a several month slumber in a box and I downloaded the 2015-01-31 raspian and installed it to an sd card with win32 diskimager and when I booted the pi it ran through the normal scrolling screen of startup ...

Re: Heat Sinks, Do YOU need them.

So the answer is still NO no matter how you run the pi, especially if it's not in a closed case? I've been away from the "scene" for awhile and I see thousands of auctions for heat sinks for the pi on ebay. I thought maybe I missed a new development where they became necessary. I guess not. I keep m...

Re: Selling Pi Arcade consoles

It's not an issue to build a mame compatible raspberry pi system configured for arcade controls. You aren't selling the software, and you can't provide the roms. You sell the arcade machine and as a courtesy you have the configuration files necessary to run mame on it if the customer wants to do so....

Re: mame4all_pi - has anyone mapped there controller?

I haven't tried a ps3 controller, but in mame4all I have configured several usb joystick controllers. You can configure the controls in the emulator while running a game. With a keyboard attached, hit the tab key to get to the menu and then go to controls and you can set up down left right coin star...

Re: My new bartop arcade cabs

It's super simple to set up. Each set of 2 wires connects to a single switch. The controller can handle 12 buttons and 4 joystick switches. I use happ buttons and joy sticks which have different switches to the sanwa ones in the kit you showed, but the connections are the same. If you have a 5 pin j...

Re: What's up with audio in advmenu (advancemenu)?

All of my movies are mng with mp3 audio and they sound terrible in the advmenu. I've tried converting the mp3 to wav, but they are still awful. I've been disabling the audio in advmenu for my bartop cabs.

I'd like to get something working.

Re: Raspberry Pi Cases

I did an ebay search for "raspberry Pi case" and got 565 results. The market is flooded with $6 cases with free shipping from china. If you make a really pretty case you can get some sales, but I think you'd never make your investment back if you're buying the machine just to make this product. I'm ...
