Any premade Solar options?

I'm looking to power a Pi1 Model B with a Camera and Wireless Dongle mounted to a shed behind my house with no power ran to it. I wouldn't mind shelling out a little more for a premade device or kit that would power it during the daylight hours (not using the NoIR version for the time being) only, s...

Netflix on Pi 2

So does the new Pi do anything for us for Netflix support? I was wondering if the Ubuntu distro that works on it is Netflix compatible.

Re: Is anyone actually trying to use Raspbian for desktop us

If it had the ability to run Chrome well, it could be a poor man's Chrome Box, but I'm going to be under the assumption it can't. I need to find some time to play around with the Pi, I might get a B+ at some point. There is no current build of Google Chrome or Chromium compatible with ARMHF Their i...

I get around 10-11 on Writes And 7-8 on reads on a wired network with all Windows 7-8 PCs, on a 256 Pi running Raspian, can't remember the GPU split, I know the GPU side is low. Externally powered Seagate 3TB Hard drive is ext4 and the Samba share is public, anyone can read or write (its at my apart...

Re: Rpi as wireless access point for a church

You don't specifically need an access point to have another wireless radio broadcasting either. You could take any old router, change the IP to something not the current router (I normally leave a router as .1, and start making other network devices .2). Second, turn DHCP off, this is really the mai...

I oddly enough tend to get better writes than reads, about ~10 write and around ~7 read, on a wired network, ext4 formatted drive.

Re: File Size Limit Issues with Samba

It looks the file gets corrupted when it copies. I made a Linux Mint Virtual Box machine so I could access it via NFS, and I verified from SSHing into the server, that both show the 15 GB file as only 4.3. So at this point, I am going to copy the file using the VM with NFS to see if it copies and th...

Re: File Size Limit Issues with Samba

I'm not really following, but I needed to elaborate so I apologize. My Raspberry Pi IS my server, that I'm sharing on my local home network. I'm not sure about cifs or what I need to do to get it to share properly. Keep in mind, I've been using my share for about 10 months, using smaller files. But ...

File Size Limit Issues with Samba

I can't seem to be able to copy large files (>~4GB) to my server without them reporting as 0KB on my Windows PCs. I am using a USB Hard Drive formatted ext4 with both Samba and NFS setup.

Any thoughts on where to look for the problem?

Re: Camera Server Compatible with Pi-Cam

Basically, my project is to try to make a solar powered camera on the edge of a farm in a remote location, using an AT&T hotspot for internet for it. The audience would just be family members, but because I would be using an AT&T connection, bandwidth would be an issue, so ideally, I would just want...

Camera Server Compatible with Pi-Cam

I just ordered the official Pi camera that I want to use for live streaming. I would like to use another PC as a relay so if I have a bunch of people looking at the feed, its not hogging the bandwidth from the camera itself. My question is, is there a good piece of software for Windows or Linux that...

Re: Pi and ownCloud

I set it up using a guide instead of an image, it seems to work well.

Its a little bit glitchy when downloading, it hangs when it starts, then starts going after about 10 seconds.

I know speed seems to be limited by the internet, not the Pi.
