Re: Raspberry Pi Server Model?

HDMI - built in to the SoC, so only cost saving is the plug. SATA - Not built in to the SoC, so an expensive extra chip required, plus laods of software to drive it. See next point. Gigabit Ethernet. Possible with a new Ethernet chip, but would need to be attached by other means than the SoC USB (t...

Raspberry Pi Server Model?

I was thinking earlier how great it would be if they make a 3rd raspberry pi that is specifically for people that want to use their raspberry pi as a server. But the goal would be to keep the same price of the model B ($35). Remove: -HDMI Add: -SATA/eSATA Port (would the cost outweigh the use for it...

how do you limit the overall upload/download speed of the pi

I have recently set up a pptp VPN server on my raspberry pi, however my internet is terrible. So I would like to host it on my friends router but I don't want it to use all of his bandwidth. So it would be great if someone could tell me how to. Thanks a lot -Jared B.

Re: how to remotely control desktop from raspberry pi?

Thank-you so much for such a quick reply!
I actually just figured out how to start the default Ubuntu vnc server.
I will have to install debain on my sd card tomorrow (it got corrupted) and give it a go.

Also, which client will be faster?
Thanks a bunch,
Jared B.

Re: My Super Nintendo Pi is about done

Very nice, do you think that you could make a tutorial? there is a pi contest on Instructables right now and i think that you could win some prizes with this. I am also trying to do something like this except i would like to mount my pi on a 7in screen and splice it so that i can still hook it up to...

help using rock band drums on raspberry pi

I am currently trying to figure out how to use the rock band drum-set on my raspberry pi. I would like to use the pi to make it into an electronic drum-set and have currently had no luck.
