Re: How many would be interested in a "real" App Store?

Actually, this thread is what inspired me to make Pi-Apps! :) Hi, I can see now that you already have Snap Store which is great. Perhaps you could also add Flatpack (Flathub) in your Pi-Apps collection, because it supports some apps that is not supported by the Snap Store . I currently using both o...

Yes but pi-apps is not installed from synaptic. It's just installed from a script snagged from here: https://github.com/Botspot/pi-apps
You have uninstall script there. Just run the script then.
I can't seems to find it. Would you be so kind as to share it here.
Thank you in advance.

Linux 5.12 seem to be getting new RPi4 commits: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Raspberry-Pi-VC4-10-12-BPC All those patches are already in our rpi-5.10.y branch. Maxime Ripard who is doing the upstreaming work is under contract with Raspberry Pi. It's not all magic fairy du...

Re: KERNEL on the latest STABLE PRODUCTION update caused the Raspberry Pi 4B to freeze while playing video on the VLC Pl

This bug has been evident in the rpi-update branch (our version of beta if you like) it's where we push all our kernel and firmware changes before they get merged into the stable branch which results in it going into the apt update. It was found there on Monday by me and we had a bit of to and fro ...

Have you tried `sudo rpi-udpate`? I believe that will fix the issue, we are just delaying a new apt release until we are confident all the required fixes are in (and nothing that might break something else) Actually the update that the Raspberry Pi Trading should be delaying is the original botched...

This is not the first time that Pi product releases have been issued in a broken state which indicates to me (with a very long career in IT Systems Management) a lack of effective testing.
Totally agree with you on this.

Re: KERNEL on the latest update caused the Raspberry Pi 4B to freeze while playing video on the VLC Player

This morning I updated (apt update apt full-upgrade) all of my Pi’s. Pi4 4GB, Pi 4 1GB beta 64bit, Pi-400 and Pi zero. I now cannot play any video with VLC on any of them. Some part of the latest round of updates is broken. So the questions are: What is broken ? And how do we go about backing it ou...

To successfully upgrade, you should run 'apt update' followed by 'apt full-upgrade'. Following that I sometimes run 'apt autoremove' though didn't do the last stage this time. Refer: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... pdating.md
Same here.

Did you run sudo apt-get update or sudo apt-get upgrade?
We need to run both of them in order to see if there's new update (sudo apt update) and to actually get your system updated (sudo apt full-upgrade).

You might need the thickness of the pad, on my passive Flirc cases I used paste either side of the pad. Paste is much better than pads but can't be guaranteed to bridge gaps.
Any of you guys know the thickness of the original thermal pad that come with Argon One case?

Thank you in advance.
