Re: USB Gadget stopped working

OK, so turns out that in internet sharing it was also creating multiple instances of RNDIS Ethernet Gadget so I had to turn off internet sharing, enable for each instance and then re-enable internet sharing. I am baffled as to how that can suddenly change overnight after months of worked (I didn't d...

Re: USB Gadget stopped working

Thanks, as I mentioned though, in order to setup wpa_supplicant and hostapd to work as I require, I cannot connect the pi to WiFi until I have done this config. And to do this config, I need to download some packages. What is a self-aligned IP address? An IP address assigned by my Mac to the pi (or ...

USB Gadget stopped working

So, I had one of those days to day where fires just start spontaneously all over the place! The one that has stopped me working on the others though, is the USB gadget function. Basically, I am setting the pi up headlessly and then before connecting it to a wifi network, setting up systemd-networkd....

Re: I2C symlink disappearing after reboot

I have my own custom (tweaked existing) overlay which I think is initiating i2c-11 but I want to symlink that to i2c-1 so that my python scripts don't need changing.

So how can I get that link to persist? It used to persist (in Buster) but in the latest OS it doesn't.

Thanks

I2C symlink disappearing after reboot

I have set up a symbolic link for I2C buses but for some reason I have to re-run the command after a reboot. I actually have two pi's and it worked fine on one of them for four months. Now on this additional pi, it does not retain the link. The command I am running is: sudo ln -s /dev/i2c-11 /dev/i2...

Re: pigpiod processor usage

I'm having issues with wiringpi. -m flag seems to be stable at the moment so I will keep that and look to work out my wiringpi issues later. Thanks joan.

Re: pigpiod processor usage

Am I right in thinking that if I am using pigpio solely for an output (hardware PWM to be specific) then the -m flag is a reasonable thing to use in order to keep cpu usage down? Or is there the potential for exceptions or something else?

Re: DTOverlay for focaltech ft6336c touch controller

On the off chance that anyone else that needs it, to invert touch add the following to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf

Under touch input catchall

Code: Select all

Option "TransformationMatrix" "-1 0 1 0 -1 1 0 0 1"

Re: DTOverlay for focaltech ft6336c touch controller

OK - I have touch control! I used the hyperpixel square dts and just swapped all the pin numbers. I have inverted touch so need to look into that and the backlight is not automatically coming on but those are just tweaks! Thanks for your help, Phil...wish I'd thought of the hyperpixel dts sooner, it...

Re: DTOverlay for focaltech ft6336c touch controller

Brilliant! So I will give it a go combining them. I can see that there is an init file also on the repo written in C. It seems to be doing something with SPI (as I can see MOSI). I think this is just setting up the pins, so will we need our own version of this or can we set the pins up in config.txt?

Thanks, I know for next time I guess. I added the interrupts from your earlier interrupt dts to the most recent dts, compiled etc. // Overlay for FocalTech System Touchcontroller with i2c_gpio bitbanging host bus. // Version without interrupt /dts-v1/; /plugin/; //#include <dt-bindings/gpio/gpio.h> ...

"port has more encoding"...could it be the polling or resolution values?

Re: DTOverlay for focaltech ft6336c touch controller

Great, so now the module is loading and I can see edt_ft5x06 in lsmod, but still no touch is working. "Used by" is actually 0 in lsmod.

edit: I haven't adjusted the resolution or polling, I would imagine that if they weren't quite right then touch would still work but with some side effects

Re: DTOverlay for focaltech ft6336c touch controller

The module loaded manually, yes:

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo sh -c "echo edt-ft5x06 0x48 > /sys/bus/i2c/devices/i2c-11/new_device"
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ lsmod
Module Size Used by
edt_ft5x06 20480 0
With that loaded, should touch work?

OK, so I have a fresh Pi OS install + rpi-update to fix i2c-gpio boot issue. This is likely as there are no pull-ups connected w...
