Re: Display white (not working)

Two power supplies is overkill unless you are powering several devices from your Pi USB ports. Connect the two GPIO cables that are included (not all four) from the Pi (5V and GND GPIO) to to the display board (5V and GND Pins) and power your Pi with a 2A fixed cord power supply (not a cell phone po...

Re: western digital drive package

projpi.com has put up a 35% off coupon code for this. Even with the discount it still seems a bit expensive. but I like the connector. Really, compared to what exactly ? a 1TB 2.5" WD Blue drive goes for $56.90 http://amzn.to/1LnFY70 A 256GB Thumb drive goes for about $75 and a 1TB Portable USB dri...

Re: Failed RoHS for plastic parts in USB

Hello! When a product that contains a Raspberry PI B+ was tested for regulatory compliance it was found that the black plasitc parts in the USB connectors contained too much bromide which caused it to fail the RoHS compliance testing. Is the Raspberry itself supposed to be RoHS compliant? Is this a...

Re: Quad Pi SD card problem

Geffers, the new Pi processor Arm7 requires updated drivers that are not in the traditional B+ operating system. You shouldn't have to buy a new microSD card but you will have to reformat one of yours using the SD Formatter tool and copy over the latest Noobs release - 1.3.12 or 1.4 will work just f...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 2 Q&A thread

Does anyone know when could I get a Pi 2 in China? The official local distributor told me that currently they don't have a production plan yet. So would there ever be a red Raspberry Pi 2? PS: I see some shops are already taking order for a green Pi 2 (world wide version). Most of them will start t...

Re: New Raspberry Pi model A+ hdmi not working

1.The HDMI port does not show anything on the screen anymore. This has never been an issue before. I use the LINDY hdmi to vga adaptor. Does the HDMI out work when connected directly to a HDMI input. That is the first troubleshooting I would attempt. If the HDMI video works connected directly, then...

Re: New B+ Case from Farnell

The new cases are quite ingenious actually. Not too mention that the case is sub $8 in most markets. For that you get a case that will hold both the Pi and the Pi Camera, Can be wall mounted and has GPIO access. For sure there are more expensive laser cut cases on the market (Pibow comes to mind) bu...

I have attached the correct video pinouts. Not all cables are alike and you will very different results by using the incorrect cables.

Once the board is in a case the memory card is barely noticeable. This should make the EDU crowd very pleased. On the plus side there will be no more broken SD slots.

I remember the old model B (at least the old old 256Mb ram one) had an issue with the Ethernet/USB controller which caused loads of threads of complaints on this forum. Re: The Raspberry Pi Model B+ Q&A thread

As I said most 3.5mm Audio cables will work. What you have to watch is the Audio / Video cables. Off the shelf cables may work except that you may have to plug the Yellow connector into that audio port and the Red or White connector into the video port.

Re: The Raspberry Pi Model B+ Q&A thread

The 4 pole pinout for the Pi Model B+ Audio / Video connector is not a standard. Most 3.5mm audio cables...

Re: Usb on rpi doesn't have power what to do?

I don't think we have an answer for you at this point short of getting a new board. The power coming out of the USB ports that you posted is sufficient to power a keyboard and mouse. There is no reason other than possible user error that that board should not work. I would suggest purchasing a new b...

Re: Usb on rpi doesn't have power what to do?

How can i power up a mouse an keyboard? Thanks HaswellPi, you have asked this question a number of times and I think we are at a standoff here. You don't "Power up a mouse and keyboard", the USB ports either work or they don't and the USB ports not functioning is very rare. If you have a multimeter...

Re: Usb on rpi doesn't have power what to do?

At this point in order to fully troubleshoot this you will need to gain access to a HDMI monitor or TV with HDMI input. Since HDMI is the native output of the board and Composite requires user intervention by either editing a file or pressing a key, I would strongly suggest testing with HDMI output....

At the Raspberry Pi prompt type "Sudo Shutdown -F -r now" and that will reboot the Pi and run FSCK to check the volume.

Here are the LED status definitions: ACT – D5 (Green) – SD Card Access PWR – D6 (Red) – 3.3 V Power is present FDX – D7 (Green) – Full Duplex (LAN) ...

Re: Usb on rpi doesn't have power what to do?

At this point I would try with a different power supply, borrow one if you don't have another. It is very rare for the Pi USB ports to not work. If you have any other type of 5V power supply with at least 1A. Also it would be best to use a Monitor or TV hooked directly to the HDMI to troubleshoot. P...
