Re: Serial Console Server

I don't have that many switches but the pi is connected to a router via usb to serial connection and then serial to console access. I'll be looking for a USB male to USB female with multiple connections so I can connect to the switch and just ssh into the pi. I've created an alias so I don't have to...

Re: FreeBSD ARM for Raspbery Pi

Here's to wishing more development would happen on the ARM proc for freeBSD. My pi is a 512 version and unfortunately, only 280MB will be used. Any pointers on what to change to use all 512?

Re: VOIP Between two Autos?

Interesting idea. Not an impossible plan but the level of difficulty increases because you're actually wanting to travel down the road doing this. I would say your best solution is to review mumble server and try it out on the pi. There are mumble android apps (probably apple ones as well) that woul...

Re: Software for conference calls

You don't NEED a pi to have a conference call. Open an account with sip trunk provider http://les.net add money to your account via paypal and buy a DID in your area. Have the DID route to a conference call. People will dial the number and enter the pre-assigned conference call.Up to 24 channels for...

Re: Post your Raspberry Pi server setup!

So ive been trying to set up a FTP server for a small group of people (around 10) so we can transfer movies with ease without having to got to someones room (I live on a campus) and transfer them. Could the RPi handle the load? and how would I set it up because for some reason I can't get vsftpd to...

You're going to use the pi as a NTP server? Nice! post the hostname and I'll setup my pi to contact it.

The power supply with the hub won't work to power the hub so that's why you need to get the PSU.

If you're looking for a secure backup "to the clouds", you can check out www.tarsnap.com

I'd advise just to keep the private key off of the pi.

Try it out and let us know how it goes! It may take some time to generate the self signed cert, however.
