Re: USB redux

I am currently getting rid of my LEGO and building the whole system into a compact 1U 19" rack mount box complete with internal power supply, front panel with 16 Cat5 connections, rear panel with HDMI, PAL video and four USB connections. And I have used it as a VT controller to record several progr...

It's because they don't have packages for the the ARM ( hence Raspberry Pi ) but only for 32/64bit x86 ( aka PCs )

compiling from source helps?

I had a previous version of the rpi 3.2.27 kernel patched and booting with RT_PREEMPT, I recently downloaded the zippped archive of the git repo and patched t without error again. may keep an eye on this thread: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=9634 I'll try another throw at R...

why did you compile your own kernel? what did you modify from the main Pi .config ?

I've stopped building both BFS-BFQ and RT for now, when they transition to kernel 3.6.x I'll reintegrate everything again.

wallarug wrote:how does cpu_freq avoid such from happening?
overvolting is a user choice, it's activated in the config.txt
cpu_freq only switches freqs between standard (700) and your OC choice, only, it does not do any auto-over-volting IF you did not set it to in the config.txt

Re: Kernel doesn't start after buildroot rebuild

use a good kernel, from a known good image, like Weezy, log in, run:

Code: Select all

zcat /proc/config.gz > config.default
backup it first, then take config.default to your build machine ( or on the same ), put it in your linux kernel tree as .config , run make oldconfig, then edit it as you wish

Re: Overclocking

Yeah, but the quake 3 demos and stress don't do many writes to the card, I think it's multiple writes that are causing the issues. With xbmc I can do whatever in it and have no problems, do a library scan and it corrupts the card Yes and no, before trying to asses the influence on the SD card part ...

aaaaaaaaaand later edit: It does not work on my Pi, stops at the RTC init, yes the RPi does not actually have a clock to talk about but i'm not sure that's the problem per se... ideas? did I mess up the kernel build/config or something?
