Re: glint-nes Jan. 2013 release - download and demo video

Some results: I'm using this adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Retrolink-Nintendo-NES-Adapter-Entertainment-System/dp/B000PDOTXG/ref=pd_bxgy_t_text_y with an original NES controller. It works, but the buttons are different than the "official" controller: A is button 0 B is button 1 Select is button 2 S...

The chmod +x changes privileges for running the Program and you will have to do this EVERY TIME you run it! Another GOOD reason to compile yourself as there will be NO NEED to do this!
This is incorrect. chmod +x puts execute permissions on a file permanently.

When the come in the mail (within the next week) I'm going to be testing some USB adapters for NES and SNES controllers, since I have 2 original NES and 1 original SNES controller already. I'll post my results and input configurations here.

Awesome, that's exactly what I was looking for. If it wouldn't step on your toes too much, would you mind me setting up a branch to work on glint-snes?

Re: glint-nes Jan. 2013 release - download and demo video

Looks great! I'm curious about a couple of things: You mention that there's currently no way to exit RetroArch without the keyboard. It looks like a method like http://forum.themaister.net/viewtopic.php?pid=1065#p1065 would be useful: set input_enable_hotkey_btn to, say, Select, and then set input_e...

Re: why does retropie work better on my crt tv than on my hd

That's not strictly speaking exactly what's happening (there's still vblank on CRT TVs), but it's along those lines. Modern HDTVs do lots of postprocessing effects on the frame, which can take several frames (up to 4 or 5 frames, or nearly 100ms). Many HDTVs have a "Game Mode" that can be turned on ...

Re: OsmOse – a Sega Master System/Game Gear emulator, now po

Wow, cool! Out of curiosity, what makes OsmOse faster than, say GenPlusGX or DGen? Is there some dynamic recompiling going on, or a better rendering pipeline, or just faster m68k/z80 cores?

I'll have to check it out. It might also be a candidate for porting to libretro for use in RetroArch.

Re: No external routes through wlan0 when eth0 down

If I don't have eth0 plugged in at boot, it works fine. My plan is to have it connected to my stereo, headless and wireless, so it's not particularly important that external routes don't go through wlan0 when ethernet is plugged in.

No external routes through wlan0 when eth0 down

I've just gotten WiFi working on my Pi. However, when eth0 is down, because it's unplugged or I've brought it down with ifdown, there are no external routes, only 192.168.1.0/24. pi@raspberrypi:~$ sudo ifup eth0 <snip> bound to 192.168.1.146 -- renewal in 227271 seconds. pi@raspberrypi:~$ route Kern...

Re: Neo Geo & cps2 help

If you're on Raspbian, the armel .deb is not going to work (I don't think). Raspbian is armhf. That's why you have to use the --force-architecture to even get dpkg to think about it.

You need to find the source code for that CPS2 emulator and try compiling it yourself.

Yeah, I also noticed the problem some time ago but though it would have been fixed by now. It seems that it was fixed a month ago in libretro , but perhaps that's not yet included in RetroPie binaries. Petrockblog: could you check the version of fceu/libretro in the RetroPie binary, and recompile i...

If DGen works better than Genesis-Plus-GX, I might see what would need to be done to make a libretro port. Could be fun :) Me and the other devs are always looking for more ports. If you want to take a crack at it, check out libretro.h , it describes the API pretty well. There was a more in-depth P...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Problem: Every time we start emulation station and run a ROM, the Raspberry Pi freezes after about 5 minutes of gameplay and needs a reboot. It simply locks up, and no keyboard inputs are recognized. All LEDs are on, on the Pi. Are you updating the firmware before using retroarch? There is a bug in...

Re: Profiling on the Pi?

Yeah, it looks like OProfile is too much trouble for the moment. I'm building gperftools now. I needed to add "-march=armv7-a" to CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS to get it compiling, because Debian armhf apparently targets ARMv4 out of the box. I'm going to post a bug on the google code page about that. Assumin...
