Re: Gertboard Software in Python - Released

@poglad Ive just got around to "fixing" the test code as mentioned here [ http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=204085#p204085 ] so that he LED5 lights correctly on the rev2 pi. Can you detail what changes might be made and where to fix the LED1 issue when it script first starts? Thanks!...

Re: Direct links to Gertboard Manuals and Software

Ive double checked and that is the same version of the Test Software I downloaded. Once you make all and run "leds" the LED5 does not light. Apparently it is because of the changes to the GPIO pins in the Rev2 RPi. I know what needs to be done to make this work but dont know how to do it. I played a...

Re: C17 pad destroyed

Bernie, Did you get your board sorted? I just did the same thing on the top pad of c17. Not exactly sure what to connect to what now. I need to find the schematic and work out where the top pad connects next... it looks like the top of R24 only but not sure. Tandy, If the top pad of C17 does only co...

Re: Gertboard Assembly Thread

I have just started soldering the first components to the Gertboard and got as far as C17 before one of the silver "pads" on the board itself peeled back. It was stuck to one end of the capacitors and when the other end was soldered down it see saw'd off the base. It didnt come right off, it...

Re: RPi IP Emailer

Below is what dmesg spits out but the warning message is straight out of the script. "[ warning ] eth0 not found in file" (i tweaked mine to say adapter instead of eth0) so the warning message is not listed below. The message shows here http://youtu.be/rzEYBvDu8E4?t=1m45s pi@raspberrypi ~ $ dmesg [ ...

Re: RPi IP Emailer

Changing adapter = 'eth0:' to adapter = 'wlan0:' the script does send the IP address of the wireless adapter. :) The script does not email now shutdown/reboot (as ts going down), only when the Pi is powering on or coming back up. Even after getting the email with the IP address, I still get two [war...

Re: RPi IP Emailer

I have only just got my wifi working again after upgrading earlier so I haven't tried the new script yet. Looking at why my wifi was still listed as wlan2 even after doing this * A final tweak you might like is to edit /lib/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules and disable persistent renami...

Re: RPi IP Emailer

Thanks, I feel special now :) Ill let you know how it works out. Any reason why it couldn't report multiple addresses if wifi and hard wired? Reading under "Improving WiFi config" here > http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=17788&p=176847 ...it mentions disabling "persistent renami...

My Pi has been stuck on this line for about the last 20+ mins. After "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade" ... Unpacking replacement raspberrypi-bootloader ... Processing triggers for man-db ... Setting up manpages (3.42-1) ... Setting up raspberrypi-bootloader (1.20120918-1) ... Your curren...

Re: RPi IP Emailer

Sorry, when I said boot and reboot I meant it emails on boot (as it should), then again as its going down, then again when it comes back up (as it should). Depending on which of the three devices I use I have wlan0 wlan1 or wlan2, some people might have more or less I suppose. This is straight from ...

Re: RPi IP Emailer

Thanks for this script - Very useful! :) Is there a way to check and email the IP address if the Pi is headless running a WiFi connection? Each of the three wifi dongles I've tried connect and I can SSH if I know the IP but at the moment I still have to check the IP depending on where I am or If I t...

Re: Connecting USB devices reboot the Pi

The voltage hovers around 4.88 and I didnt see it going any higher than 5.08 while booting. I tried to record it while plugging the asus adapter in but sods law, it didnt reboot. I switched to plugging it in the other port and it started again. 99 times out of 100 it will reboot, though occasionally...

Re: keyboard and mouse connect in the hub not work

There is a list of devices that have been tested by users and put on the wiki at http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeriphera ... d_USB_Hubs

It might be that your hub is one with a known problem.

Connecting USB devices reboot the Pi

Hi all, Ive had my Pi for a week or so now and one of the very first and recurring problems I had with it is that, when I first connected a USB WiFi dongle (Belkin F5D7050 [ Ralink RT2571W ] ), the Pi rebooted itself. Being a Linux newbie I assumed that I shouldnt have plugged it in while booted up,...

Re: Farnell VS RS delivery times

I ordered from RS on the 30th March. on the 28th August I received an email, like many others did, saying the order would be delayed by up to 9 weeks. I emailed Farnell to confirm that their website advert or delivery within three weeks was accurate... then ordered without waiting for a reply...
